Prince Caspian 8/10
Very nicely and accurate adaptation of the C.S.Lewis classic from 'The Chronicles Of Narnia'.
Great to watch for adults and children (having read the books aged seven they have always been dear to me).
Aslan looks a bit fake (the CGI for him could have been better) but all the children perform their roles well with Georgie Henley as Lucy Pevensey stealing the show.
Peter Dinklage likewise excels in the role of Trumpkin and Reepicheep will have the little ones enchanted.
Next on the adaptation list is 'The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader'.
Planet Narnia is a recommended read for any who wish to unravel the books real meaning and construction using medieval cosmology and Biblical rhetoric .

Little Miss Sunshine
Film about a dysfunctional family travelling across America to get their daughter to the finals of the 'Little Miss Sunshine' beauty Pageant.
Sounds shite, but i really enjoyed this, and it's worth watching for the last 10 minutes alone - made me laugh out loud!
Great soundtrack too.
8/10

Monsters Vs Aliens
The latest offering from Dreamworks (Shrek & The Incredibles) and a really enjoyable film for all the family.
A specialist 'X file type area' has to unleash it's 'monsters' to save the earth from invading Aliens - amongst the monsters is a 60 ft woman and a giant fluffy insect! My favourite had to be B.O.B though - he cracked me up!
Made me laugh a lot, Mini Gres really enjoyed it and if you can, watch it in 3D - all in all a very enjoyable kids film!
8/10

Crank 2, I shouldn't love it - but I do... Was it the moment that the stripper (?) got shot in the tits giving rise to a silicone and blood explosion that won you over? ;D

I don't remember an awful lot about the film, it was a bit like shotgunning a bottle of Jaegermeister! I was being genuine when I said I liked it though! Mr Statham has obviously found his niche, fair play to him.

Mr Statham has obviously found his niche, fair play to him. I did like the first on the grounds of its incredulity. I think it was Andrew Collins who reviewed it on Five Live; he said he walked out after that scene, thought the line of decency had been desecrated and torched rather than merely breached.....made me more interested in seeing it. ;D

HOME OF THE BRAVE
Samuel L Jackson and Jessica Biel star in this film about a group of American soldiers returning from duty in Iraq. All of them have emotional issues (caused by injuries, or the deaths of their friends etc) and the story portrays their problems adjusting to life back in the States.
it's ok, which is about the best review i can do - its very disjointed, and some of the lead performances are average at best. It is quite moving, but so much more could have been done with a very emotive subject.
5/10 (being generous)

CORALINE 3D
From Henry Selick, director of 'THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS' and based on Neil Gaimans book of the same name, comes a magical and beautifully animated adventure in full 3D.
I went with Mini Gres and Mrs Gres and expected nothing but was totally blown away by this film - the animation is just beautiful and it's a magical story for both young and old to enjoy.
Coraline Jones is bored in her new home until she finds a secret door and discovers an alternate version of her life on the other side, but here her 'Other Mother and Father' are fun, attentive and give her everything she desires. It isnt long, however, before Coraline discovers it's all an elaborate trap set by a witch who lives on the souls of children.
Its a kids horror/thriller so dont go expecting much in terms of scares, but it is a dark film and it works brilliantly, and the 3d is nicely done.
A definate watch for the whole family - one of the better kids films ive seen in quite a while.
8.5/10

Captain Corelli's Mandolin
I don't know which was worse...Nicolas Cage's hair or Nicolas Cage's Italian accent. Good storyline though.
7/10
Catwoman
I turned it off because it was so laughable. I'm struggling to think of a film that Halle Berry has acted well in (I'm not counting Monster's Ball because it was boring.)

VANTAGE POINT
Dennis Quaid, Forest Whitaker and Mathew Fox star in ths fast paced thriller about an assination/terrorist plot to kill the US President.
Fuck me, this film is mental - shot at a million miles an hour it recaps the events leading up to the shooting, but from several different people's views - it all then comes together in a cracking finale.
Brilliant - if you like any of the 'Bourne Trilogy' you will like this.
8/10

RAMBO 2,3 and 4 2 and 3 are 10/10 but 4 has to be a 7/10. Not as much action as the others and a shorter film. But brilliant. Love the part when the Vietnam soldiers killed his girlfriend. And he got pissed off and killed about 500 men. Awsome. Love the part in Rambo 4 when he kills everyone with a huge gun, but that was the only good bit. I can't seem to find first blood so on Saturday shall be going down to a few charity shops to see if they have it. Heres the action scene in RAMBO 4 www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2RG-vMLGCk
