Nooo, i mean Wenger likes to look for the 16 years old and then mould them, ala Fabregas. Our under 17's are very highly ranked in the world - we have bags of talent coming through, but if they end up as toothless as this bunch of overpaid tossers we're fucked! Yep. But then this again boils down to the whole too many foreigners. There must be a problem if these U17 players are not making it into the first team of many top flight teams. When they get older i mean, as opposed to going into the team at 16/17 years old.

He's a bigger twat than I already thought then! What the hell can he hope to achieve now - media will crucify him, English public hate him and I reckon what esteem players felt towards him will be out of the window too! The tit! I totally agree, the FA should wave a big wad of money in his face, pack his bags and fuck him off ......... and Barwick should fall on his sword as well! we're a fucking laughing stock tonight, and Gerrard, Lampard, Bridge, Cole, Campbell are the fucking court jesters - what they put on tonight was nothing short of a pantomime! Add Carson to that list especially on his first half display. Whilst I don't blame him - I cannot understand Macca's reason's for selecting him for such a crucial game! Still Villa can push for a hard bargain now - there's no way they'll be paying Liverpool £15 in January ;D

Losing is good, we can get rid of clown Mclaren and rebuild. Scraping through qualification would have just set us up for the ultimate dissapointment of getting knocked at the quarter finals again under a shite boss with a load of paid primadonnas like Lampard. England will turn this around now I agree with most of what you have said but we need a decent Manager and possibly a few heads to roll at Lancaster Gate

Totally agree - quota's should be imposed even if it's only 3 or 4 'home-nation' players in every starting 11! Make it harder for foreign players to get into the Premiership / Championship i.e. MUST be established full internationals with a minimum of 30 caps! Reduce the fucking pay they get too - wankers like Schevchenko and Ballack ain't worth £130k a week - they're here for the money only!

It'll focus clubs on Academy football - so why not try and attract the top World coaches to these to train up our crop of youngsters! And if players coming from overseas have got 30 odd caps then the youngsters are going to learn from these too.

Well, the top clubs will fight any quota through the courts and most probably win on the ground that it breaches fair trade laws

This country is sick. No one accepts responsibility. And if they do they get a huge payoff for it. Paid for failure. It never used to happen. There are promising shoots of recovery. The kids at the Arsenal academy are excellent technically & display plenty of flair ie Henri Lansbury but there are too many foreigners in the league. But too may overpaid members of this team are one footed & lack technical ability. Still a decent manager should get a team organised & difficult to beat & learn from previous mistakes ie never play Gerrard with Lampard. The emphasis is far too much on physical ability coaching wise not technical skills. Go to Brazil or Argentina al they work on right up to the age of fifteen is developing ball control & vision. The FA is an inept organization right from handling their bid for the 2006 World Cup, the fiasco over the costs of Wemblet & the whole coaching structure & their losing battles with the ever greedier elite clubs in the Premiership. They appointed an inept manager (Barwick must resign) when in the past great managers like Cloughie were rudely ignored. Even appointing a decent manager can take the NT only so far as you cannot make a purse out of a sows ear when the players are so limited. And it no surprise clubs take on foreigners because they are cheaper & more technically adept . It would be helped if the elite shared their monies with the rest of the pyramid so they would not have to offer their best young players at exorbitant prices . And when they do these kids are shuffled off into the reserves & do not develop at a critical time. Platini is right in insisting on quotas but unfortunately the G14 are all powerful. Mind you lets put things in perspective. The loss of personal details of 25M inhabitants is more worrying. Bet Brown is rubbing his hands with glee as it takes away the publics focus from what is really important a rotting decaying Britain ruled by a bunch of incompetents. McLaren for Sports Minister ?

Here's hoping eh! you've spelt it wrong Alex, its actually a 'bored' meeting! ;D ;D I'd love to be in there to see what they talk about. I hope the meeting takes literally 5 minutes, with one unanimous decision being decided upon. McLaren's departure.

Well, the top clubs will fight any quota through the courts and most probably win on the ground that it breaches fair trade laws So introduce a salary cap as in Rugby - and we can't say that the influx of foreign Rugby stars has damaged our International Union and League sides Works in American sports too - so no legal precedence to 'challenge them'! Set it at say £30m per annum - Chelsea might fancy some past it Russian or German international but cannot offer them the extoriate wages they'd demand. However, those players could sign for lesser Premiership clubs. Footy fans get to see the best players - but they are evenly spread throughout the division and the youngsters developed 'in-house' benefit from playing along side such stars! Everyone's a winner!!!

Salary cap as in with or without bonuses? The latter would enable richer teams to just offer tremendous bonuses and hand over wages that way.

And get agents out of the picture. Best players still get to play in the Premiership - the TV money and sponsorship won't go away. Clubs could in effect make large profits (no danger of a Leeds Utd happening again) and profits can be ploughed back into Academies, community projects, and maybe even reduced turnstile prices. AND, I think the Premiership would become more competative with great players spread evenly between clubs. Maybe then the best footballing side will win trophies - not necessarily the richest!
