The question of player quota's (minimum number of home grown players in first 11) will no doubt raise it's head again!
Bent and Defoe having played perhaps less than 10 hours of competative footy this season expected to be sharp and match fit and able to turn the score around!

Like playing a friendly just days before a fucking important game then losing your best striker to injury in that game.

McClaren showing his nous with that decision. The twat should be using the friendlies to introduce new players and try new formations and tactics!
He'll be able to test that in the Championship from next week when he's appointed Plymouth's new manager! ;D

well congrats to croatia, played some lovely football, controlled passing, holdups etc, deserved to win as players wanted it more, a very under performing england team, showed the spirit o get back level, but the difference in class showed through, remember croatia didnt need to even draw! crouch only one to perform, as for lampard, didn't even know on pitch until the penalty! oh and welcome to my summer 08 always the olympics and ye can keep venables ;D

He's got to go, the FA needs a complete shake up cos at the end of the day they picked him over every other fucking manager in the world! Tonight was farcical, defending of derby proportions and absolutely no fight at all! I'm gutted, cos i'm a proud englishman but if it means we get a manager who can make 11 good players play together then so be it. maybe every cloud does have a silver lining!

I hope so desperately that we get Mourinho in. Man for the job I reckon - he'd shake the shirkers in the white shirts up! And the muppets in the FA!

How i see it, is that as much as Mourinho is a good manager, he wouldn't be afraid to pick players who are performing, as as you say, shake things up. The only thing i would say, is that the FA will probably not appoint himl, purely because they may lose a manager who is completely under their control and do what they say etc.

And the muppets in the FA! i completely agree mate! they wont get him as they'll do another 'cloughie' on him and go for a safe option! I think the list should be: 1. Mourinho 2. Martin O'Neill 3. Scolari ...and that is it!
