The reason they do it....they want to have their 15 minutes of fame. There's a disturbing trend in Britain where people just want to be on TV and be famous instead of getting a real job. With role models like Chatelle who won Celebrity Big Brother without actually being a celebrity we have created a sub culture that is very disturbing. Unfortunately some people are being brought into this world thinking that this is normal behaviour. If you think it's bad now wait to see what the next generation will be like! Planning on having a family then H? Yes but my kids with have morals and be articulate! It doesn't suprise me Hannah. I hear them on the bus and I think back to when I was a teenager. I could at least string a sentence together!

I could at least string a sentence together! I use the word like alot, except it comes out as 'loike' through my slipping in and out of a Suffolk accent I don't know what this country's coming to in the future, makes me wish I had a crystal ball. Seems as though there'll probably be a class divide though

Well with their Father being from Abbeydale I wouldn't expect anything less Bents Green actually! lol ;D Morning Hurlock, yes I'm officially old because I did the "in my day..." bit. I don't care!!! Morning Jules. Hannah I don't even think it's a class divide thing. Kids are just getting thicker! They don't teach you things to learn in school anymore. They teach you how to pass exam so your results will earn the school more money. That and parents don't take responsibility for they kids. It's always someone elses fault when they're kids grow up to be cocks!

Hannah, when I was young the word was 'innit' whenever I said that with a bit of a south London twang. Mum, sorry Mother always threatened me with elocution lessons.
I was sent and I'm grateful
Both my parents are teachers!

Traditionally the "working class" have been interested in education per se and as a means to an end. Some people now who aren't in that situation are going to stay stuck in a cycle of poverty, low expectations, few opportunities etc... There may indeed be problems with the target-driven system in education but I'm not about to blame the Government for the low standard of education...

Doesn't every child have the right to education from the age of 5-16?

I was sent and I'm grateful Both my parents are teachers! I just hate the way that everyone seems to judge teenagers on the minority (probably majority soon though). I want to become a teacher, but with the amount of paperwork and the behaviour of kids that I have to have lessons with (in English they use their phones, sit around talking and my teacher doesn't care. In the computer room they do sod all, it's probably because my teacher's so bad ) it's putting me off. Plus my mum's trying to put me off it. She says I have more ability than that.

Doesn't every child have the right to education from the age of 5-16? Yeah. I've heard the government want to raise the school leaving age to 18 And they're planning to scrap middle schools in my area

Morning Mrs H I think you've hit the nail on the head, it does all come down to being responsible. Its too easy for some to blame others or have a couldn't care less attitude, if there was a little more personal pride things would improve.

Ok Jules tell me now there isn't something wrong with British schools.... There are so much many restictions on what teachers can and can't do in schools these days and kids are becoming more savvy about what they can get away with that it leads to this general apathy. Teachers know they can't get through to kids without some control. And in that I'm not suggesting we bring back the birch!
