I'm happy to let people have any view that doesn't involve their violent hatred impacting on the lives of other peace-loving inhabitants of our country. When people cross that line, you have to take steps. But the BNP are not using violence that I've heard of and it is someone right to hate. It's a fine line. I hate the BNP yet I believe that if we are to be a fair and just society they have the right to express their views. The moment they are not allowed you create a dangerous position where the government then can decide on any and every view. You stop one expression and they can all be stopped. Mark my words the world governments are already trying to create an environment of fear from terrorism to global warming. The threat from both is slight, yet the government persists in making you feel unsafe and in effect puts many citizens in a position where they are prepared to give up parts of their liberty in order to be protected by the government. Can't you see that we are becoming less free every year that passes. ID cards, CCTV, stop & search, GPS, mobile phone positioning, email monitoring, credit checks and records...............the list goes on! God the government knows more about you than you do! I stand by my comments left above. The BNP themselves may not be using violence, but they have a closely-related following among groups that cannot be allowed to gain an acceptable reputation. It is liberal nonsense to suggest that "irrational hate" is a human right. That's paranoia, I expect better from you. It is not a slippery slope, there is only one type of expression - irrational hatred of fellow humans - that needs to be stopped. The exaggeration of the terror threat is something of an issue, sure. Global warming will I believe affect us, but that's a matter of opinion too. It is paranoid to dismiss both as Government manoeuvring however. None of those things are a problem - proverbially - "if you aren't doing anything wrong" So do major corporations, that bothers me more. Sell, sell, sell eh?

That's a silly thing to say Jules! So no one has aright to hate? Well how do propose to enforce that?

That's a silly thing to say Jules! So no one has aright to hate? Well how do propose to enforce that? No-one has a right to propogate that hate, incite that hate or act on that hate. Which includes forming groups (political parties, whatever) that intend to spread, popularise, or act upon that hate.

Jules hates Wales being a backwater It's not a backwater. It was one of the engines of the Empire, thou ingrate! Then again, I appreciate it not being chock-full of holidaying Londoners, poor Cornish get swamped of a Summer.
