It's ok, I'm just waiting for Hollywood to remake it with Adam Sandler! ........ that would be like remaking the Full Monty, with Bruce Willis in the lead role!! Or The Wicker Man...with Nicholas Cage! Oh, hang on...

I watched that last night too. Great film. First time you'd seen it? Yeah! I'd always heard good things about it, so decided to watch it. I'm glad I did!

That said, not heard of 1942, so I can't say much about it. Ju-On, Uzumaki and Ringu are reasonably disturbing though!

I'm currently watching Once Upon A Time In America. But at 3 1/2 hours it's been too much to watch after work / gym etc in one go so I'm doing it like a TV program!

How fast can you run a mile GT? Is that a quote from the film? lol If not, then I'm not sure to be honest mate. Probably quite fast I would imagine, I've always been a decent runner even when smoking (not at the same time as smoking of course)

I can run a mile in 5 minutes 53 seconds, with no training, of course I'm younger though.

If you can do it in less than 6minutes 30seconds that's very good mate.
Target that but if you don't quite make it you should be fairly fit..

VANTAGE POINT Vantage Point takes a 'Rashomon type approach' to the thriller genre; the US President is shot whilst making a speech in Madrid, prior to signing a new anti-terrorism agreement, and the venue is then bombed. By examining the events from the perspectives of several different characters, and each time moving the story on a little, the film slowly reveals those behind it and the ultimate fate of all those involved. With a fine cast, 'Vantage Point' promises much, and for the opening half hour it really delivers, having the feel of a high quality episode of '24'; the script is intelligent and intriguing and the whole feel of the piece is quite authentic. Unfortunately the film makers seem to lose their nerve after that and after one rather ludicrous plot twist the usual recipe of car chases kicks in. A lost opportunity. 6/10

KOKODA: 39TH BATTALIONAn Australian war film about a group of reservist soldiers who are sent on Patrol up the Kokoda Trail - the supply trail that seperated Australia from a full blown japanese Invasion. After a sustained bombardment by the japs, the 39th battalion are cut off behind enemy lines and must make there way back through jungle terrian to reunite with the main Aussie army for one last stand to protect their country. The film shows how the men survived with little food, no sleep, dyssentry, malaria & carrying their wounded - all th etime being hunted by japanese soldiers. Its based on real events, and i have to say i thoroughly enjoyed the film. It is brutal in places, beautifully shot and portrays the agony and pain they went through in order to surive. A film about courage, friendship and sacrifice that is well worth a watch if you like 'Platoon' type films.; 7/10THE COTTAGEBobbins horror/comedy about a kidnap that goes wrong in a classic 'Texas Chainsaw massacre' type scenario in Rural England. Mildly amusing in places, but mainly just a bag of shite! 4/10

Goal II: Living The Dream
Utterly predictable tripe that alternates between shamelessly aping Rocky 2 and being no more than an extending ad for the global football 'brand'.
So why did I enjoy it so much? Guess I'm just a sucker for the 'underdog' tale, no matter how cliched. First film is still a lot better though.
6/10

Little Shop of Horrors (1986)Based on the musical of the same name (which in turn was based on the 1960 film 'The Little Shop of Horrors'), this was an old childhood favourite that I watched again today. And wow, what a film. Featuring a star-studded line-up including Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, James Belushi, John Candy and Bill Murray, this film promises a lot and delivers. The soundtrack is superb, the acting more than good enough (given that it's a sci-fi comedy-horror-musical about an alien plant that eats people...), and the directing fantastic. To call it 'entertaining' is an uderstatement; unlike many childhood favourites, I enjoy it even more now than I did back then. It's also surprising just how well Rick Moranis and Steve Martin can sing! Bill Murray's scene as the masochist patient to the dentist played by Steve Martin has got to go down as one of my all-time favourites too - anyone who's seen the film will remember one line very well indeed... "Ohhhhhhhhhhh!!! CANDY BAR!!!!!";D Well worth an 8/10 from me
