Bet you're glad you didn't reference 'Stop or My Mom Will Shoot' or 'Police Academy 7: Mission To Moscow'! ;D Yes I am ....... I was upset enough when they put Titanic on and called it 'James Cameron's classic'!! Maybe if it had a few more facehuggers in it! Or an indestructible homicidical android from the future!

I know, I tried it once. It just sort of crumbled and went all over the floor in a brown mess

Mamma Mia
Ok now you can take this film 2 ways, seriously or camp it up. If you take it seriously it is quite possibly one of the worst films ever made. If you camp it up and laugh with them then it's actually quiet funny.
It's dangerously overacted and some of the direction (Meryl Streep rolling around on the floor pretending and Colin Firth dancing bare chested with a gay man). The biggest laughs of the night came whenever Pierce Brosnan sang. I've never heard people howling with laughter before at a film!
It's a very silly film and if you're an uber straight male I would advise you stay away from this film. But if you're female or as gay as the day is long then fill ya boots.
6/10

The Seventh SealI'd not seen this for years!! I referenced it the other day when talking to Trav, and low and behold it suddenly appears on Film 4. It's much mooted as Ingmar Bergmans masterpiece, and definitely is layered with multiple levels of angst and doubt. Covering life, death, and the existence of God it's a fascinating film. Most will know it as the inspiration for the bit in Bill & Teds Bogus Journey when they play various games against Death. In the Seventh Seal the game is strictly limited to chess (who knows he may have won at hopscotch), and the man playing Death knows ultimately he will lose. It's not light or frothy, but it's a great film and worth a watch. 8.5/10 You've just reminded me that I bought it in the sales about 6 months ago and still haven't watched it! ;D

There was a trailer for Hellboy II last night before the Dark Knight. It looks amazing! Del Toro is definitely drawing in his Pan's Labyrinth skills for this one.

Incidentally I bought 'The Darjeeling Limited' in a 3 for 20 squid deal and am considering taking it back after trying a few times to watch it and falling asleep.
Critically acclaimed but dull as dishwater. Or am I missing something?

Did no one watch any films last night? I had a bout of insomnia so put The Darjeeling Limited on again and I was off!
It was a bad sign when they deliberately had Bill Murray in at the start then had him miss the train that forms the core of the film.

American PsychoI'll never get that 2 hours of my life back. Please watch the film again Ads and tell me what the hell happened in it. Gruesome especially the chainsaw scene I can't give it score because I didn't understand it. ? out of 10 So your questions are?

It's a shame as I really liked 'The Royal Tenebaums' but this is just overly talky, meandering whimsy! I will take it back citing a glitch on the DVD (always works) and swap it for something else!

Aah, those offers really piss me off these days. I can never find 3 films that I'd like but don't already own. Couldn't find anything to go with Lust/Caution last week. I'm having to be VERY strict about the very few titles I re-buy on Blu-Ray too. Did you buy The Orphanage then?
