The dream, is over.
If you can't motivate players to play football in the Premier League, what can you do?
Duke: Fairly solid performance, bar the awful fumble for their second.
Doyle: Awful. A few times he cheaply gave the ball away when under no pressure. Ricketts should never have been dropped for him.
Turner: Solid as normal, but regularly fouled Santa Cruz when it was not needed.
Zayatte: Erratic as normal. Numerous times he hoofed the ball from defence straight to their keeper or out for a goal kick. Poor today.
Dawson: Poor. Let Diouf get in behind too many times.
Mendy: Tunnel vision. Great at dribbling, but often goes for goal when putting the ball across the goal would be better.
Ashbee: Never been a fan of his, but he held the game together very well. Deserved his goal. The only player who can hold his head high after the game.
Marney: Out-played, and then sent off. Poor.
Kilbane: Ineffective. Didn't play well at all.
Geovanni: Should have put City 1-0 up early in the game, but had an awful first touch. Ineffective.
Garcia: A right winger playing up front, when three (possibly four) strikers are on the bench (Cousin, Manucho, Fagan, and maybe Barmby). More questions than answers about Brown's thinking.
I still believe Phil Brown is the man for the job, and that when we go down, we shouldn't sack him, we should stick by him, however losing to such a poor team like Blackburn leaves a lot to be desired. It also leaves me wondering where our next points are coming from, if anywhere.
