The only joy I took from the England side last night was that Beckham displayed his usual passion for the side - seeing him shouting at the players, asking them what the hell they were playing at, and watching him glare at Lampard after one particularly awful pass from him (missed by about 8ft) was probably the best entertainment England offered. Nice to see Heskey can still do his job even against the best team in the world. Just a shame there was no-one to back him up (And what a joke the linesman's offside call against Heskey was )

Cappello's appointment has completely changed the attitude of the English national side. It seems there is no longer an option to point the finger at management, because that's not such an easy option anymore.
We went to Spain, got outclassed and had to accept that we're not as good as the opponents. For the last 10-15 years we've gone into these sort of games with the attitude that we're as good, players and fans alike.
England can take heart from the fact Spain are not only just about the best team in the world right now, but were also pretty much full strength. If you add Rooney, Gerrard, Ferdinand and Walcott to the England side then I think you've got a different game.
In summary, still lacking the quality, but attitude much better.
