I've resisted so far, but in the absence of anything better to do, I've got the radio commentary going.
England to bat first after KP won the toss; first ball's a wide (though nothing like Harmison's!). Anyone else paying attention?

I'm watching it, but only with it on in the background. Still want England to win obviously though!

I'm not so sure about that, truthfully - long-term, I wonder if a win here might actually do us a little harm. A loss would remind the team that they have to keep their heads down etc going into the India tour. With a win and all that money, might a bit of complacency settle in?

Pissed off with cricket since i paid £32 to watch the first day of the 3rd test in the 2005 ashes, then applied for a ticket for next year and got told that £50 was the cheapest i could get. And they say football is purely about the money

It'll be interesting to see how the commercial side of cricket develops after this series though - I hope it doesn't go the same way as football

I'm not at the moment. Probably will do once dad's finished with Casualty. I don't particularly like the series, hence why I've not snaffled the remote and refused to switch over. I think it's fuelled by greed and the ECB has just handed England out on a plate. South Africa, India and Australia all refused this series. It's basically the West Indies vs England. Roll on next year for the "real" thing!

As soon as cricket finally became popular again, they flogged it to sky as they were the highest bidder. Just as kids were getting into the game after we won the ashes back. So it's only the kids whose parents can afford sky who will continue to follow (and hopefully learn to play) it. At least football following kids can still watch Match of the Day

Agreed; the real deal will be far better

Can't say it surprised me, but it did disappoint me.

Sounds like the bowlers are doing a good job of mixing their deliveries; will England handle it? Apparently not - Shah caught out just as I was typing that. Come on England, get your shit together!
