Well if I was a Devonian I would be - but I am Cornish!!! No the lad is doing ok, but his diving partner has blamed him for their loss and that he was nervous and wasn't concentrating!! What a cheek. Not being funny but who the heck is he to blame someone else, thought it was a team effort and a partnership!!?!?!? You mean to say that that Aldridge bloke wasn't nervous and didn't feel like throwing up at the top of that board? I very much doubt it - the bloke needs to get a grip and maybe take some of the blame for both of them coming last - in a team event!!! They came last out of 8 so its not like they were 4th and just out of the top 3 is it?? I think that that Aldridge bloke is jealous of Tom and all the attention and also that Tom is in individual heats as well and he's not, not sure if thats his choice or heaven forbid - he's just not good enough himself!!! The lad is 14 and should be being supported by his colleagues not put down by them!!! ooohhhh that man has made me so mad!!! I think the media are hyping him up too much. He's 14! He shouldn't feel under pressure to get a medal. The experience itself will be so valuable to him. He'll do really well in 2012. I stayed up to watch the women's 200m freestyle too - how amazing! It made me cry Anyone see the men's relay today? That was amazing too- USA and France were so close. Phelps is still on for the 8! I'll be staying up again tonight to see if he gets his third.

They are hyping him up and I will be honest, it more of the national papers and media, the local ones are keeping it fairly low key, then again I guess that's what comes of being the star boy etc.. its a vicious circle!

Yeah, he can't win really, can he. But I'm proud of him for just making it to the Olympics, it's an amazing feat at only 14.

Bless dear little Tom Daley! My mate got me up to watch it, and I got up at 7:40, despite going to bed at 2:30ish... I've seen the replay of the swimming men's relay, my God, that was incredible!!

Thats poor teamwork from Aldridge if those comments are true. Team GB score another medal. Proud Scotsman in a Scottish liveried boat took the silver in the C1 class 16 years after Graham Marriots sucess in Barcelona behind Mikhail Martikan a legend of the sport. Fellow Scot Campbell Walsh in the K1 finished last in his semi final failing to qualify for the final for which he was expected to be aming the medals trying to emulate his sucess in Athens. The swim team had a bit of a lull after yesterdays thrills. Liam Tancock finished 6th setting a PB in the 100m backstroke after leading at halfway. Gemma Spofforth was visibly upset after missing out by four hundredths on a bronze in the womens equivalent. Robbie Renwick finished last in the 200 fly final. Very disappointing for Hannah Miley in the 200 medley missing out by 2 tenths on a finals place. Meanwhile Kirsty Coventry who has British parentage & trains here picked up a silver. Why is she not with Team GB ? After all we have Pietersen , Hargreaves etc etc. Robbie Faulds missed out on a medal in the trap shooting & in another missile event Alison Williamson was knocked out of the fthe round of the 32 in the womens individiual by a turncoat Georgian now competing fot the US. However Naomi Folkhard made the last 8 after beating teamate Lottie Burgess. Why they were drawn together is strange. In the womens hockey Team GB used the reduction of the Argentina Lions to 9 players in the second half to claw a 2-2 draw. A good result considering Argentina are world rank two. Out on the coast Ainslie continues to lead the Finn class but the 49er crew are lying fourth at present..Penny Clark of Wales is second in the laser radials though. Bryon Shaw lies third in the womens windsurfing which she won last year in the test event at Qingdao. Nick Dempsey is seventh in the corresponding mens event. In the 470 class our girls are fifth the men tenth after two races but with plenty of races to go so nothing to worry to much about. uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/olympics/sailing/index.htmlThe womens team of Webb ,Ayton & co lead the Yngling after 6 races but the Dutch are closing in. In the judo Ewan Burton another Scot in the 81kg class is through to the repercharge final & in with a chance of a bronze after losing his QF match with Roman Gontiuk. He faces him again in the bronze place contest.Sarah Clark lost to a very late ippon in her contest .Another disappointment for a fancied medallist. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/judo/7555604.stmUnsurprisingly a Japanese woman took the gold again. Out on the water in Shunyi in the repercharges the womens pair of Olivia Whittam & Louise Reeve came behind NZ to make the Saturday final & are in a good chance of a bronze medal. Medals: Gold 2 Silver 1 Bronze 1

Beautifully manicured & presented equestrian course. And a superb effort from our team. Shame Zara Phillips was not there to boost the effort but Christina Cook took a magnificent bronze with veteran Miners Frolic as did our team. Shame about the dressage or else we might be looking at gold. A bloody dangerous sport with a 3 day eventer killed just last week in an event near Bristol. Joe Murray is out of the bantamweight division. More homery on the part of the Chinese ? His trainer is furious. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/boxing/7556192.stmAnd once again magnificent from Emms & Robertson in beating the number two seeds in a violently partisan atmosphere. I'd given up on them only for that magnificent backs to the wall run at the end. Medals: Gold 2 Silver 1 Bronze 3

Forgot about Michaela Breeze in the 63kg weightlifting. She was carrying a bad back injury yet decided to carry on. The pain on her face & her determination were uplifting & genuinely tear jerking being applauded by the whole auditorium. And even more so in her interview afterwards when she broke up. Fancy having devoted four years to this only to suffer a crippling injury weeks before it. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/weightlifting/7557092.stmEwan Burton lost his rep final against Tiago Camillo of Brazil. Bloody disappointing. Cant miss out on these sort of medals. OG I'm sure the nuts at the FA & UEFA & then FIFA will work a compromise which means all four home unions can create a GB for the Olympics whilst maintaining their seperateness during the other major competitions ie European Champs & World Cup. England would form the bulk of the squad but Wales have a very talented crop of kids. And with only 18 places you can see the arguments & column inches that will be devoted to its selection. I cannot see there not being a Team GB as hosts in 2012 for the mens & womens football (the latter will most definitely be virtually all English). There might even be 20/20 cricket & sevens rugby. The former needs more competitive nations & I don't think this will happen by 2012 maybe by 2040. Medals: Gold 2 Silver 1 Bronze 3

That Alridge bloke will regret those comments he made about Daley I reckon. He only made himself look like a dick! And for those wondering why the crowds are so low at this Olympics, I give you the answer.... Bia & Branca Feres... twins, Brazilian & synchronised swimmers...they didn't qualify.

I'm sure he'll be regretting it Han, and that stuff about him ringing his mum and Daley told him to hang up and get on with the jump etc, he's come out of it looking very bad. He's 10 years older than Daley, yet he came across the least mature.

All the Brit women have good bodies but crap faces. What is going on in UK Athletics? Zola Budd was a BABE!!! I don't know. Sotherton, Sanders & Henderson are rather pretty roses as is Pendleton. Back to the action and another medal for Team GB won deservedly by Emma Pooley in the womens time trial. After her sterlin work on the climbs for Cookie last Sunday in the roadrace she took the silver. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/cycling/7557780.stmUnfortunately after a blistering start Cummings in the mens version slipped to finish eleventh. In the water Fiona Pennie screwed up in the womens C1 after incurring a 50 point penalty for missing a gate .whcih was appealed by refused.Several competitors overturned in the whitewater overpowered by its strength. On the rowing lake the mens coxless fours of Hodge Williams,Tom James & Pete Reed looked imperious in qualifying fastest for the final. Gold on the way surely. Rowbotham & Wells made it via the rep to the mens double sculls finlas as did Andy Campbell in the single sculls. The womens 8s as expected roared through so a fair few medals should be coming this weekend for Team GB. The facilities at Nottingham & led ably by former DDR coach Grobler have really borne fruit once again. IN the pool Caitlin McClatchey was 6th in the 200 free. Team GB set a new British record finishing 6th in the 4x200 freestyl.e Jemma Lowe made the semis of the 200 fly but Ellen Gandy after a build up hampered by illness did not. Francesca Halsall & Gregor Tait made both their semis quite comfortably in the 100m freestyle for men & women. Overall many personal bests & British & Commonwealth records . Coupled with a very impressive set of juniors under 16 beating the established powers of European swimming Russia,Hungary,Italy & France 2012 could be the point when Team GB starts to rival the Aussies & Yanks again. Well done to Aussie Bill Sweetenham who was ovely criticised for his approach to swimmers. Too nasty apparently. Well if you want to have winners & not losers. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/swimming/7558262.stmIn the diving mens synchronised 3m Nick Robinson-Baker & Ben Swain came 7th out of 8. St.Albans local Olivia Allison & partner Jenna Randall did not qualify for the synchro duet final. A guide to this artistically pleasing & physically demanding 'sport'. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/swimming/7550273.stmRussia & US should fight for the gold again. Disappointment fencing wise. Richard Kruse lost in the econd round of the indiviual foil to German world champion Joppich by one point 10-9. In the indiviual sabre Alex O'Conell lost again by one point to Russian Nikolai Kovalev. Martina Emanuel lost in th womens foil so all in all a disaster. One point to make is that fencing which used to be de rigeur in many private schools up to the 40s is virtually a rarity. Some action plan needs to be devised to increase the number of competitors in the UK. Veteran Olympian Michael Whittaker has had to withdraw from the showjumping in HK as his horse Portofino 63 is lame. Out at sea in Qingdao Ainslie continues to lead the Finn clas, the girl trio the Yngling but in the 470s after 6 races Rogers & Glanfield lie third. The womens 470s well are struggling in 11th .Get a shift Bassadone & Clark. In the laser mens Paul Goodison lies 7th. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/sailing/7557114.stmShirley Robertson reporting there & looking as lovely as ever missing out on the team favouring retirement instead. Penny Clark of Wales continues to lie fifth in the womens laser radial. All being well 5 medals in the offing. Still problems with algal blooms at Qingdao an indication that the water quality overloaded with nitrate content is pretty poor. Medals : Gold 2 Silver 2 Bronze 3

Andy Murray can concentrate on winning the US Open as he & brother Jamie were unceremoniously dumped out of the mens doubles by French pair Clement & Llodra 6-1 6-3. Alex Hills in the mens individiual archery fared much better beating the number one seed & defending champion Marco Galliazo. However Terry & Laurence Godfrey crashed out. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/archery/7558461.stmIn the mens hockey GB worked very hard exemplified by forward Simon Dick chasing down the Dutch defenders continually with netminder McGregor making a couple of great saves & having the aid of the woodwork in one instance. Moore had a chance brilliantly saved on by the Dutch netminder late on with a man advantage. However Tindall tripped up one of their forwards on a break down the left & was yellow carded eliminating the man advantage. From the resultant pen corner Taeka Taekma converted down McGregors right. McGregor saved a similar set piece in the same place moments later. Tough to qualify for the top two from hereon in. GB should beat Canada & South Africa but they will need to pull a magical performance against Oz to make it unless either Holland or Oz trip up in their remaining games. Very hard luck on the team. Dressage team & individiual going on but I can't say I find it rivetting. Almost forgot. Hubris. The swim team decided to rest Adlington & McClatchey from the womens 4x200 free heats & despite being tipped for a medal failed to even qualify for the final. At least it allows Adlington to concentrate on her favoured 800 free. Medals : Gold 2 Silver 2 Bronze 3

A day interrupeted by bad weather forcing the cancellation of the rowing & sailing. A pretty quite day. In the boxing ring young Billy Joe Saunders is out of the welterwight contest being beaten by Cuban favourite Carlos Saurez 13-6. Tony Jeffries made it in the light heavyweight against his Columbian opponent Eleider Alvarez. Naomi Folkard did not make it past the QFs in the womens individiual archery. Not one medal for the archers. In the mens all around gymnastics Tom Keatings finished 20th overall despite being the best score on the pommel 9strage judging here again regarding his flairs & straddles). Swimming wise Francesca Halsall made the 100 freestyle final Gregor Tait the 200 backstroke final & Liam Tancock & Jamie Goddard the 200m individula medley finals. Michell Rodgers was edged out in the 83kg womens judo category as was Peter Cousins in te 100kg men to his Georgian opponent. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/judo/7560167.stmCurrently Emms & Robertson have lost the first set 22-20 to their Korean opponents. Not looking good at present. There was an absolutely magnificent rally at 12-10 in the first. Come on you two ! Medals : Gold 2 Silver 2 Bronze 3
