I just can't comprehend Bolt's victory there, even watching it again on the BBC - to start celebrating 15m from the line and still break the world record is just unbelievable. That's an average speed of just a shade over 20mph, even though he only went all-out 85% of the way. I really, truly hope that isn't a drug-boosted result (and let's face it, he's been tested 4 times already!) - what a phenomenal event that'd be. the testers missed the rocket he had up his arse ;D -

The Jamaicans usually cheat anyway. Their country usually is very slack on drug testing, this is why you see people like Asafa Powell breaking world records in minor events - because they don't drug test and then when they do, do drug tests in the olympics - he flops, because he isn't on drugs different story for that Bolt though.

Do you reckon he could've gone sub-9.6 seconds if he'd gone at 100% right to the line?

Tell ya something, though... Looking at the medals table for this Olympics, I can't help wondering if there's anything the Chinese aren't good at.
Then I remembered the cockle pickers in Morecambe.

Given that this was only his 9th major-event 100m, and he's still only 21, if he keeps the work rate up I reckon he could be looking at 9.5 in his career...

It's on 2nd September. Spozzy is checking to make sure she isn't stewarding at some tin pot Leeds Carnegie RU game.
