disassociation and alienation within a large suburban area, and two lost souls coming together (even if one is a borderline psychotic 30-something and the other is a 13 year old prostitute). personally I love this film. oh, guess it's me then each to their own mate

I'm not a huge movie fan tbh - but trying to watch more coz loads of people keep telling me about films I've not seen, and with the Digital TV it seems really easy to watch movies now - just didn't really enjoy that one.

The Long Good Friday Amazingly the first time I've seen this highly rated Brit gangster film, and I was not disappointed. Bob Hoskins gives a dramatic tour de force as the increasingly paranoid gang leader Harold Shand who quickly and terrifyingly loses his grip on his crime empire in the space of a day. Once the biggest fish in the pond, he finds he is no match for the IRA as they confidently oust him, but not before he has blamed the wrong people and killed his right hand man (an early appearance from Derek 'Charlie out of Casualty' Thompson) Also featuring early turns from Helen Mirren, Paul Barber and Pierce Brosnan as an IRA hitman, this film is driven by a sublime musical backdrop and atmospheric photography. 9/10 Theres gonna be & eruption!!! Top movie. ;D

I was forced to watch BrokeBack mountain with Mrs Gres on saturday - and i thought it was dull & lacking in storyline! It was well acted, but that was about the only plus point!
A POOR 4/10 FROM ME!

Final Destination 3
Dumb Americans dying horribly (and in ways that did make me laugh a hell of a lot). Pretty much what it says on the tin.
PLOT, ACTING, DIRECTION AND STORY RATING: 2/10 POPCORN FILM RATING: 7/10

PRIME
Uma Thurman, Meryl Streep and some bloke 'star' on this 'god awful' romantic comedy. Thurman is 37 and getting therapy to help her cope with her divorce, while Streep is the attentive 'shrink'. When Thurman meets a younger man, Streep encourages her to give things a go, only wait for it.....................this man proves to be her 23 year old son!! Much soul searching and hilarity ensue.......YAWN!!
Uma Thurman is an attractive actor with a strong screen presence, so why can nobody, bar Tarantino write even a vaguely good role for her??
0.5/10

Believe me Jules, it crossed the border disguised as a Channel 5 melodrama, at about the 30 minute mark!! If you've seen The Wedding Date, think about that but done twice as badly.

LOL nice turn of phrase. Oh - she was supposedly 14 when she had the son, right? niiiice don't think I have, many romcoms bring me out in a rash! I tend to see them a decade after they came out, on Channel 4, and grimace at how dated they are! Is Billy on a WUMming mission btw?!
