I saw Chopper on DVD last night (£1.97 from tesco's) and thoroughly enjoyed it!! Quality performance by Eric Bana who play Marc 'Chopper' Read in a really interesting, funny and sick film! That bloke is fuckin nuts, and im now intrigued to see what his books are like. I particularly liked the sound of 'How to Shoot Friends and Influence People' - might get it as my 'Holiday Book'! rating for the film 7/10 - worth a watch, and for £2 WHY NOT?? i've chopper on dvd

I saw the tame A Clockwork Orange last night, pretty good 7.5/10 but I was expecting something more shocking, just something slightly better. This is a quality film, I think you have to remember how old it is. Does go on for a while, however the rehabilitation of Alex is somewhat frightening if you ask me!

Gotta love Tesco's!! great film, the scene I found amusing was when he got out and starting arguing with his girlfriend (who is a whore for those of you that have not watched it) and asks her who's she fucking! She laughs, and he understans the irony of his question as he's aware of her profession, and changes the question to 'who you kissing'

Saw Chopper years ago when I was at Uni, quality film. Road to Perdition is dull, I got it in a sale a while ago and just find it monotonous. This time round I got The Doors (with Val Kilmer), Curb Your Enthusiam Season 1 and A Cock And Bull Story (with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon)

‘Blast From The Past’ 9/10
Like ‘A Simple Plan’ a forgotten gem that I love watching but always forget about it. Luckily, like the aforementioned film, the Beeb seem to like showing it often!
Brendan Fraser plays the lead to perfection as a man sealed in an underground shelter with his parents after his father mistakenly believes that a nuclear bomb has gone off (it’s actually a plane landing on their hourse). After 35 years, Fraser’s character Adam has to go to the surface after his father (the ever brilliant Christopher Walken) falls ill after going to the surface himself and mistakenly believing modern society to be a post holocaust dystopia. Adam harbours a dream to ‘meet a nice girl’ and he certainly does that when he runs into the gorgeous Alicia Silverstone. Initially hard hearted towards him, she warms to his kind ways and the two fall in love.
Ostensibly a romantic comedy, there is far more to this than the likes of ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ with it’s off the wall humour, gentle subversiveness (organised religion and American politics are gently mocked without being preachy). and sublimely believable character portayals (of somewhat unbelievable characters!). Fraser is not one of my favourite actors but he delights in this film, playing the naïve but genuineAdam to an absolute tee. The lovely Alicia Silverstone is a joy to behold also, turning in a great ‘transformation’ performance. There is not a weak performance in the film, check the character of ‘Archbishop Melker’ for comedy genius!
In fact, fuck it – 10/10 – a really great film. Touching, funny and heartwarming.

I remember watching a while ago, and I'd have to say Ailcia Silverstone is my defining memory. God, what happened to her career? I must admit I prefered her in Clueless, though. Not sure if that's a bit gay, actually.
