I don't think its reputation helps. It always sets expectations very high. A bit disturbing that you rated Spaceballs more highly though! Mind you, Blue Velvet is on next Friday night, and if you don't rate that film.......I'll never speak to you again!!!! You didn't find the rape scene slightly disturbing then Lucas?? Singing in the Rain, will never sound the same now!! Slightly but not really. I was expecting a lot more. Just could have been better I reckon, like the last chapter that Kuberick left out would probably have made the ending much better. That would have changed it, I didn't expect it to end like it did, and it was a waste of a huge potential when it eneded when it did.

Certainly worth a viewing. It's set in a skyscraper, and it's like a series of set-pieces if I remember rightly (haven't seen it in ages). But if you enjoyed the bar scene, it's like that but cranked up to the max. And I know there's a gremlin wedding....... Bet you can't miss it now LL!!! He he quality Gremlins 7/10. Is the second one any good?

Quite simply, it's the greatest film of the 80's. It is very dark. Then again, I don't suppose that the story of voyueristic young man wathcing over the relationship of a nightclub singer, and her oxygen mask wearing, abusive, sado-masochistic boyfriend was ever going to be a rom-com. It's probably ( ) an acquired taste, like all David Lynch films. But the visuals are fantastic, and the soundtrack is terrific. You'll love it or hate it. Alright Trav I'll make sure to record it or something. ;D I looked up that Blue Velvet on IMDB, looks dark, what is the attraction, why do like it so much?

Heap of shite. Vastly overrated IMO after all the hype. But agree that you must watch Blue Velvet. Great film You didn't find the rape scene slightly disturbing then Lucas?? I must say I disagree, it's a good film, it just didn't live up to my expectations thats all. Maybe a little overrated and tame in the 21 century but it's still good quality.

I saw Wolf Creek last night and I was going to make some negative comments about the decisions of the characters, but it's a true story so I wont. Quite a good film 7/10 I must say though that stupid film four started the film 10 minutes early, so I missed the first 10 minutes, but the first 15 minutes did look like a waste of time filler anyway.

I saw Chopper on DVD last night (£1.97 from tesco's) and thoroughly enjoyed it!! Quality performance by Eric Bana who play Marc 'Chopper' Read in a really interesting, funny and sick film! That bloke is fuckin nuts, and im now intrigued to see what his books are like. I particularly liked the sound of 'How to Shoot Friends and Influence People' - might get it as my 'Holiday Book'! rating for the film 7/10 - worth a watch, and for £2 WHY NOT??
