saw two films last night
Blazing Saddles - Superb film, great spoof and does it's bit for race relations by being co-written by Richard Prior. Gene Wilder does well, but doesn't match his performance in the producers. Whilst things get silly towards the end (in particular the French mistake song sequence & pie fight), it's still well recommended and a good waste of an hour and a half. 9/10
Lost Stock & Two Smoking Barrels - Arriving at just the right time on the back of britpop and cool britannia, Guy Ritchies debut does a superb job of providing a gritty look at the london underworld in the 21st century. Dark, funny, violent... it's a must see despite the piss-poor acting from some of the leads. A pity that Ritchie's done bugger all since. 10/10 (despite setting off thousands of diabolical imitators)

It's that film where everything keeps happening again. It's that film where everything keeps happening again. Was just bored and saw Peschi put that so I copied & pasted it Agree with you there, could have been more fun.

Jim Carrey is the spawn of Satan, he's about as funny as Rob Schneider. But on to brighter things.... THE WIZARD OF OZI hadn't seen this in well over a decade, but having seen the dvd in the sale I couldn't resist reviving some Xmas childhood memories. Having been such a favourite when I was young, I was curious how it stood up now. Well, truth be told it's probably even better than I remembered, and this is all down to three main factors: A classic storyline : simple at heart, heartwarming and universally appealing in its scope Memorable songs : 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow', 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road' and 'Ding Dong the Witch is Dead' are all firmly imprinted in Western culture, Set Design : With the story and the music the Wizard Of Oz was always going to be a good film, however it was the way the astounding, imaginative sets took full advantage of technicolor that transformed it into a cinematic classic. It's still probably the most beautiful looking film ever to be made. Pretty much perfect, in every way 10/10 Watched most of Bruce Almighty. Not impressed. Could have been any other Jim Carey film

I saw the tame A Clockwork Orange last night, pretty good 7.5/10 but I was expecting something more shocking, just something slightly better.

I saw the tame A Clockwork Orange last night, pretty good 7.5/10 but I was expecting something more shocking, just something slightly better. Slightly but not really. I was expecting a lot more. Just could have been better I reckon, like the last chapter that Kuberick left out would probably have made the ending much better. That would have changed it, I didn't expect it to end like it did, and it was a waste of a huge potential when it eneded when it did.
