Rich Ive travelled to the Stadium of Light and (Roker Park) and by coach as well. Prepare for a numb bum!!
The stadium is lovely and yes its a good view, even through the snow storm that started during the match.
The only thing that soured it, was a Policeman coming on the coach and being very threatening towards the away fans, behave or else. I have visited many an away ground and that is the only time I have experienced the like.

Roker Park game was the last evening game in the prem to be held there and the other was a 2 nil defeat for Saints on the 18/12/99.

everyone hates having a fight at a football match - why??? Well..... 1. Its a neanderthal thing to do. If people want to fight they can box or do it in some other avenue. Football is a mainstream sport in the country and you can support your team and banter without violence perfectly adequately full stop. Violence hurts people at the end of the day. 2. It in no way helps your team - inside or outside the stadium. Perhaps because the day at the football is never about the sport at all but coming out on top in hooliganism with the opposition. Thats wrong. 3. No matter what you say innocent people ALWAYS get caught up in it. Football is a family activity and 95%+ of all football fans don't want to see it. It may be indirectly as a result of being kept back in the ground at the end of the game to actually being hurt. Parents don't want their kids to see a load of morons acting like idiots and nor should they have to. The vast majority of people shouldn't have to suffer as a result of a mindless few. Go fight in a field in the middle of nowhere if you have to. 4. Its not nice to go to a football ground with a huge police presence - and even worse for example to be searched on the way into the ground or if they block people's views by standing in the aisles or in front of the stand. 5. Its the club you supposedly 'support' who has to pay for the high police costs. 6. It means that if you go to an away game you may get shepherded around like a herd of animals and lose your freedom because of the potential for trouble and actions of a mindless few. 7. Property gets damaged - it was Amici Wine bar in Nottingham last week. 8. It gives the club and country a bad reputation.

You seem to like judging large groups of people in one go. The violence at the game was unacceptable and was perpetrated by people like yourself, not people like me who go to matches to watch a game. Well, fair play to you, enjoy yourself, but my family has a history of football hooliganism. My dad used to fight every week and still has the scars from a fight with a Millwall fan, and me and my brother both like to fight at football matches - its our way and its good fun, we NEVER fight with anyone other than those who want a fight, we always ask first "Hello, sir. Prey tell, would one like a spot of fisticuffs? Could we engage in mutual punching, and then maybe a cup of tea and a shag after?"
