ipswichtown.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=911&p=2&stid=8438569Jim has finally realised that if he wants Town to stay in the FA Cup, he needs to loan in a striker!! Bloody hell - he's spent the last two days talking about playing an unfit Richard Naylor up front, and when we start relying on Bam Bam to return to his striking role, you know we've got problems!! ORIGINAL THREAD:Allow me to go a bit Cav-ish for a moment. *Turns Caps Lock ON* WE NEED A STRIKER AND WE NEED ONE NOW. ALAN LEE IS SUSPENDED FOR THE WATFORD GAME. JON WALTERS IS CUP-TIED FOR THE WATFORD GAME. DEAN BOWDITCH IS AT BRIGHTON FOR THE WATFORD GAME (LOL!). DANNY HAYNES AND BILLY CLARKE ARE TOO YOUNG FOR THE WATFORD GAME. WE PLAYED BOLLOCKS AGAINST LEICESTER TODAY; I HAD SAID IT FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK BETWEEN THIS GAME AND THE PALACE ONE THAT I THOUGHT LEICESTER WERE FAR MORE LIKELY TO SCORE THAN US FOR THE SIMPLE REASON THAT JUST RECENTLY, WE'VE SOMEHOW F***ING FORGOTTEN HOW TO SCORE. JIM MAGILTON'S SMART DECISION REGARDING STRIKERS IN THE TRANSFER WINDOW (I.E. TO SIT ON HIS BLOODY HANDS, LET KABBA, HOSKINS & CO SLIP AWAY WITHOUT EVEN TRYING AND THEN END UP SIGNING SOMEONE WHO COULDN'T EVEN SCORE AGAINST US WHEN HE WAS PLAYING FOR CHESTER) LEAVES US IN A POSITION WHERE WE STILL DON'T HAVE A PROVEN GOALSCORER WHEN ALAN LEE ISN'T AVAILABLE. SO F***ING SORT IT OUT JIM, AND GET SOMEONE IN NOW. AND GARVAN - WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING TODAY?!!! WELL DONE FOR GETTING YOURSELF SENT OFF BECAUSE I PRESUME NOW YOU'LL PROBABLY ALSO BE OUT FOR THE WATFORD GAME. WHOOP-DEE-F***ING-DOO. *TURNS CAPS LOCK off* Rant over. Now as long as Jim listens, I'll never have to do that again...

And I agree with every single word Apparently Jim's in Belfast at the moment, something to do with 'family business'...

Probably asking his family to put on Town shirts and play up front because he's fucking panicking realising he wasted a glorious chance to sign an experienced frontman when he settled for Walters instead.

At first, I laughed at his challenge because I had the 'Hiiiiii-YA!' sound effect from Soccer AM in my head, but then I thought; "Hmm... That was bloody stupid. You sir, are a muppet!" and got very annoyed... I could see Gavin Williams behind me (I don't sit in a posh area, injured players sit in a box behind me, because I sit in the 'Family Section' of the Brittania) and Gary Roberts were there... I think they left when a few of us were talking about Alan Lee...

Blah blah blah lets get a loan in...
Yeh but you all seem to be forgetting any decent strikers have already played in the FA Cup. And those that haven't (at Premier league clubs) will be kept at their clubs as cover, and probably not be given clearance to play in FA Cup either even if we did loan them.
Yes, it's a pisser that we'll end up using Haynes and Clarke, but shit happens, lets get over it (we all know whats going to happen on Saturday anyway) and get on with things eh?

I wouldn't go that far...3 maybe for them and we might get 1 in...
Oh yeh forgot to add in my other post that the other reason we didn't get a good new striker is because they were too expensive? Who in their right mind would pay 500,000 for Kabba who's been plagued by injuries past few seasons. Sorry but I can see why Jim never signed him

My money is on Roberts or O'Callaghan upfront along side Haynes (or it had better be Haynes because Clarke has looked naff recently)

I appreciate what you're saying. It's the realistic response. But I'm hanging on to the sliver of optimism that didn't drain out of my body yesterday in the hope we might squeeze a bit more money out of this FA Cup campaign, even if that's only achieved by means of a replay and a possible live game. But that definitely won't happen without a loan signing. Yeah, there's probably bugger all out there now (take Jon Hartson for example - would've been an idea seeing as he's on the loan list, but he played in the 3rd Round so that rules him out), but there MUST be someone perhaps trundling around in the Man City reserves or something... ...anything's better than Jon Macken, eh. ;D ;D ;D
