Why bother changing it? Admittedly the first one is a bit naff, but i dont see the point of changing a clubs badge!

The flower is a white rose. The White Rose is the symbol of the House of York and has been associated with the entire country of Yorkshire for many hundreds of years. I'm not sure when the white rose was adopted but I think it was in use in the 14th century, (long before the Tudors!). The War of the Roses between Yorkshire and Lancashire, (House of Lancaster symbol being a red rose) was fought during the 15th cenutury, but I don't think the conflict referenced the roses at the time. One of the reasons why our main traditional rivals is Man U perhaps ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

My favs are either the current one, or the 70s one with the upturned LU in the circle.
That's said, it would be nice to revitalise the Peacock badge (4th up from bottom), as we've pretty much lost the Peacock nickname nowadays and it would be nice to bring a bit of tradition back to the current setup.
