2 or 3 quality midfielders needed, at least 1 CM and at least 1 winger.
A major factor in our problems over the last few years, particularly this season is a very poor midfield. Our strikers are nothing special, but competent at this level. They score so little because the service is so poor/non existant and the football so one dimensional.
I think other LCFC managers have failed recently because they haven't put the emphasis there. Our midfield is chronically poor, so much so we regularly play full backs in CM/wing and strikers on the wing. It is the main root of our problems in my opinion.
A good striker may be nice but the reason we aren't scoring isn't predominantly down to the strikers. Which is why I'm not particularly excited to hear us linked today with an out of form Patrick Agymang at Preston.
IN: Steve Howard (striker) from Derby - £1.5 million - 3.5 year contract Barry Hayles (striker) from Plymouth - undisclosed fee - 1.5 year contract
OUT: Eric Odihambo (midfielder/striker) on loan to Dundee United for the rest of the season. Marton Fulop (goalkeeper) recalled from season long loan by Sunderland
BIDS: Marton Fulop (goalkeeper) £1 million bid from Leicester to Sunderland - REJECTED Graham Kavanagh (midfielder) - Sunderland Bradley Johnson £300k from Leicester to Sunderland - ACCEPTED - personal terms being negotiated
PLAYERS MADE AVAILABLE FOR FREE: Rab Douglas Jimmy Nielsen Hossein Kaebi Alan Maybury Sergio Hellings Carl Cort Elvis Hammond

you're right mate, thankfully we haven't signed any of them! (yet)
I just want 2 or 3 quality players not a shed load of mediocre crap.

I must say your sub bench against us, was utterly poor. You'll probably get Norris because Holloway was saying how great he is all summer and i'm sure you'll get a few good players rather than the crap you are being linked to - if Milan gives you some dosh, watch out for bungs though ;D

More than likely! Probably the likes of Maybury on there I would imagine.
We've already had a bid for Norris rejected! We'll get ripped off by Plymouth, there are decent players elsewhere to be had.

We have 3 midfielders on trial - at least 2 Hungarian. Never heard of 'em but one is a senior international and the other one, their club only wants to let out on loan. Hopefully they are as good as our only good player in the team, who happens to be Hungarian! Also linked with Howard (Derby) Kavanagh (Sunderland) yes please!

Newton Cort Nielsen Kaebi Hellings Rab Douglas Maybury All told to sod off home for Christmas, not to bother turning up for training and to find a new club. I suspect this may be easier said than done, people would have to be foolish to sign these players. Good riddance. Kaebi the only question mark but tbh he has looked poor. And we have competition to sign Fulop in Jan and he has been recalled (though not until Jan).

Maybury & Douglas will find homes north of the border ie Motherwell . The former was very decent with Levein at Hearts. It will be hard to attract players considering the position of the club in the table & you will have to offer inflated prices. Thats the nature of the domestic market until the elitist sods in the Premiership yield up more cash.

Leicester boss Ian Holloway is ready to make Cardiff's Tony Capaldi his first signing. (Daily Mirror) No great surprises there....I suspect being brought in to play left midfield if this is true. Bit worrying that Cardiff fans think he is lazy and not too good though.

£1million bid put to Roy Keane for Marton Fulop. Also expressed an interest in Kavanagh. We really need to make sure Fulop comes here, preferably for New Years Day. A brilliant keeper, and he has said he wants to stay. Sunderland know how much we want him though and I can see Sunderland pushing the price very high though and fear we may miss out. Eric Odihambo on loan at Dundee Utd til the end of the season.

Mandaric said on Radio Leicester we should be pushing through the paperwork of signing Steve Howard from Derby today so that he is eligible to play tomorrow.
The sort of striker we need I guess but our priority has to be the midfield.

And Barry Hayles apparently. He has come in with a second bid and we have given Hayles permission to talk to you guys. With a view to moving straight away

So Stevie Howard from Derby. I'm happy with this but think the contract is too long. Barry Hayles from Plymouth. I remain to be convinced. I think midfielders need to be our priority not excessive signings of strikers which previous managers have done - and Hayles is too old in my opinion to offer too much for us. But we'll see, Ollie knows him well I guess and reckons he works very hard. Fulop back to Sunderland. Very very disappointing. Thankfully its happened early so that if we can't sign him, we can get another GK on loan, I don't much fancy Hendo in goal for long. So state of play even before New Years Day!: IN:Steve Howard (striker) from Derby - £1.5 million - 3.5 year contract Barry Hayles (striker) from Plymouth - undisclosed fee - 1.5 year contract OUT:Eric Odihambo (midfielder/striker) on loan to Dundee United for the rest of the season. Marton Fulop (goalkeeper) recalled from season-long loan by Sunderland BIDS:Marton Fulop (goalkeeper) £1 million from Leicester to Sunderland - REJECTED BY SUNDERLAND Graham Kavanagh (midfielder) - Sunderland Bradley Jonhson -£300k bid from Leicester to Northampton - ACCEPTED - negotiating personal terms PLAYERS MADE AVAILABLE FOR FREE:Rab Douglas Jimmy Nielsen Hossein Kaebi Alan Maybury Sergio Hellings Carl Cort Elvis Hammond
