HAMILTON have until close of play today to make a decision on a £2million bid believed to have been tabled by English Premier side Wolves for midfield starlet James McCarthy.
Molineux gaffer Mick McCarthy submitted the offer over the weekend and is desperate to conclude the signing of the 18-year-old.
Hamilton knocked back a £750,000 bid for James McCarthy from Burnley last week and the player is believed to be keen to head to Turf Moor.
advertisementHowever, the Wolves bid would exceed Accies' believed £1.5m valuation of the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.
James McCarthy rejected a move to Liverpool in 2007, while Chelsea are just one of a number of other clubs to have expressed an interest.
His team-mate Brian Easton will undergo a medical at Burnley today with a deal understood to be around £400,000 on the table, with add-ons that could see the 21-year-old's signing net Accies a total of over £700,000.
Easton's deal should be completed in time for the left-back to join Owen Coyle's side on their pre-season tour to America on Thursday.
Easton, a Scotland Under-21 and B international, is believed to be desperate to join fellow Scot Steven Fletcher at Turf Moor after he joined Burnley in a £3m switch from Hibs.
Meantime, agent Willie McKay claims that there is English Premier League interest in Accies midfielder James McArthur.
However, no firm offers have yet been received for the 21-year-old, who was rumoured to be attracting glances from Rangers last season.
Meanwhile, Accies have announced that George Paterson has accepted the post of chief executive.
Paterson, a director of the club for 18 months, was previously national director with RBS.
