Well, at least all the speculation can end now and we have the whole summer to sort a new manager out. I don't blame him for seeing Reading as a better proposition; better stadium, better finances and of course he has links there too...the black book of contacts will be missed. Was looking forward to seeing how we'd fare next season with him in charge, not so much now, it's going to be a long hard season. Looks like this had been agreed a while back - yet he still came out with comments stating his 'love of Watford' and banging on about his 'honesty' and 'integrity' . Really did come across as an intelligent and decent gentlemen. He eventually won our fans over and guided us to mid table very well, now he has turned his back on us after six months and is a hate figure. You really did show us your 'integrity' and 'honesty' Brendan! Arnie/CAV - what are your thoughts?

I think he was always going to come to reading when the opportunity arose. He lives in the town and having worked at reading for years knows the set up.
Thing is he can hardly make a statement about how he'd like to leave before he knows it's definitely gonna happen, otherwise if it hadn't he'd hardly be able to continue at Watford. I don't think he was lying when he said he was happy at Watford and wanted to take them forward. It just so happens that he, in his opinion stands a better chance of achieving his goals with Reading.
I think the appointment is a good one. He's young, eager and has alot to prove. He's been very successful in football thus far, and has good contacts in the game. I think he is a good alternative to the Coppell style manager we have lost and will hopefully utilise the great crop of young players we have coming through the ranks and will be given some cash to bring in some fresh faces.

Well there are conspiracy's going about that he was eyeing the Reading job from the start - as it was widely known that Coppell was going to stand down - but how true they are, is anyones guess. I seriously think we are massive relegation candidates now. Our pre season is pretty much fucked and I wouldn't put it past Rodgers to come back and rape us for our best/most promising players. Of course when our two sides meet he shall have a major advantage as he knows our club setup inside out now too. Skybet Odds for Next WFC Manager - Mackay M 4/1 Coton T 12/1 Gibbs N 12/1 Pardew A 12/1 Jackett K 12/1 Curbishley A 12/1 Hessenthaler A 14/1 Poyet G 16/1 Ferguson D 16/1 Wise D 20/1 Barnes J 20/1 Boothroyd A 25/1 Ince P 25/1 Cotterill S 25/1 O'Leary D 25/1 Sanchez L 25/1 Irvine A 33/1 Di Matteo R 33/1 Gannon J 33/1 Hoddle G 33/1 ...A whole host of awful names there! Boothroyd I'd rule out Fergie Jnr, Di Matteo and Kenny as they would be out of our price range. Most of the rest though are just horrendous..Barnes & Wise Gibbs (incidentally a coach @ Reading), Malky, Hessenthaler, Curbs and possibly Poyet are decent shouts. Coton is a legend but he lacks any experience.

You've had your little moment in the limelight, now jog along back into the lower divisions like you have for the majority of your existence.
