screwed either way. Stay out of the bottom 3, 10 points deducted at the end of this season.
Go down in the bottom 3, 10 deducted at the beginning of next season.
Either way, relegation confirmed for Southampton FC.

So their relegation isn't confirmed just yet then? no, it is. Because if they stay up, they will get 10 points off this season's total. They can't finish 10 points above the drop zone, so are relegated. Most likely though, is they will go down 23rd and have -10 next season.

They'll have to get their CVA sorted, otherwise they'll be buggered even more.

Basically the authorities wish the deduction to have an effect, so they're going to choose when to impose it?

Basically the authorities wish the deduction to have an effect, so they're going to choose when to impose it? I think it's because of what Leeds and Boston (I think it was Boston) did last season.

pretty much...they just make up the rules as they go along. to prevent teams like Leicester cheating..... and Ipswich, Bradford and every other team that had been into administration. even with -10, we'd have finished in 2nd above you. I get the feeling we've been here before.

Well this was inevitably going to happen but is still sad to have the confirmation that we are fucked.
In an ideal world we can keep all our players and bounce straight back but that was said when we dropped from the Premiership. I've got a feeling it's gunna be a long time rolling around in league 1, if we even find a buyer that is.
Ah well

I think it's because of what Leeds and Boston (I think it was Boston) did last season. too bloomin right as well. Boston went into administration at half time on the final day of the season to avoid a -10 start the following year (turned out they were fucked anyway the following year but that's another story) At least this stops clubs using that loop hole again.
