I hardly blame Cov for sending their interest elsewhere if we messed them about last season.
As for Lafferty, I'm not sure I'd want him. If he's gonna make demands to Burnley to leave and further his career, what's to say he won't do the same with us or any club he joins?

Freddy Eastwood has declared his wish not to return to Wolves and join Dave Jones’s Cardiff.
The last thing the transfer-listed Welsh international striker wants to do is go back to Molineux, where manager Mick McCarthy admits he is not part of his plans.
Eastwood is due to return for the start of pre-season training next month, but wants to have sorted out a move by then.
Cardiff are one of the clubs interested, but no one has yet made a successful bid for the 24-year-old.
He said: “I don’t want to be going back to Wolves knowing I am not going to play.
“I want to go to a club where I’m part of things and I’ll have a chance. That hasn’t been the case for me at Wolves.
“Sometimes it happens when managers buy players and it doesn’t work out.
“That seems to be the case with me
This is getting a bit annoying know, the quicker we get rid of him the better, but we should not take anything less than 1.5million.

Cardiff ain't the most well off club going (despite the 5m received from selling Rambo) so maybe if Freddy has his heart set on the place we could include him in a deal for Joe Ledley !!

Wolves have given Freddy Eastwood 48 hours to resurrect his move to Coventry – or they will call off the £1.2m deal. Eastwood has so far refused to accept a healthy five-figure settlement on his Molineux contract, despite having secured identical wages and a four-year contract at the Ricoh Arena. The Sky Blues have grown impatient with Eastwood during the negotiations and have tried to distance themselves by claiming they are “99 per cent down the road” to doing a deal with Clinton Morrison. Wolves believe the Eastwood deal is still not dead, despite the move for Morrison, so the Molineux misfit could yet end up at Coventry as well. Ironically, Eastwood and Morrison share the same agent – Neil Fewings. Both clubs have agreed on the finances of the Eastwood deal. Wolves claim Eastwood is the only party who is holding everything up. They have taken the ruthless step of threatening to pull the plug on whole transfer, without having an immediate buyer waiting in the wings. Eastwood has already returned to pre-season training with Wolves, while Coventry jetted off to their training camp in Austria without him yesterday. Wolves’ threat means they run the risk of having an unhappy player on their hands, but chief executive Jez Moxey remains hopeful this latest jolt could spark Eastwood into accepting the deal on the table. Moxey has announced Wolves have bids in for other targets, after missing out on Peterborough striker Aaron McLean. Posh boss Darren Ferguson revealed yesterday that Mick McCarthy had accepted their £5m valuation was too much. Wolves had two bids rejected for last season’s League Two 33-goal top scorer – the top one being £1.5m – and must now move on again after previously missing out to Rangers for Burnley’s Kyle Lafferty. Moxey added: “Of course we have other targets – we have never pursued just one target. We have bids in for other players.”

Besides, in SEB, we know that we have someone that will knock in 25 goals again next year and won't cause any trouble off the pitch. Err, this is Sylvan Ebanks-has appeared before Plymouth magistrates to face a charge of assault after an alleged bottling incident outside a Union Street nightclub-Blake that we're talking about here, right? So now the facts are out, we see that some pussy of a bouncer got hurt when SEB hit him with a HANDBAG. F*ck me, I would be embaressed to be that bouncer let alone take someone to court over being hit by a HANDBAG. He was obviously only in it for the money as it was a footballer.

Finally over? From the Express and Star today: Eastwood’s Coventry saga to end Coventry have finally ended the long-running Freddy Eastwood saga when they agreed to sign the Wolves misfit today. Both clubs and the player’s agent Neil Fewings have concluded negotiations earlier today. Wolves will receive a fee of around £1.2m for the Welsh international, who has signed a four-year contract. Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said: “We’ve agreed terms with Coventry and Freddy is due to have a medical later this afternoon. “Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the deal will be completed shortly. I would like to take this opportunity of sending him our best wishes for the future.” Eastwood’s move had snagged on a settlement due on his contract, which was smoothed out. In his one season at Molineux, the former Southend striker made 12 starts with a further 23 appearances from the bench, scoring four goals. Coventry chairman Ray Ranson said: “Freddy has been a long term target for us and we’re delighted to concluded everything. “Freddy fits the bill in terms of age and ability. We believe he’ll be a very exciting addition to the squad.” “We told our supporters we would be strengthening the squad. Hopefully this is further evidence we’re doing just that. Eastwood is to undergo a medical, before signing his contract and joining the squad on a pre-season tour of Switzerland on Monday. Woo hoo. ;D Can everyone now stop all the cr*p about Freddy and MM?

He was obviously only in it for the money as it was a footballer. so having read the facts you happened to miss the fact that it was caught on CCTV and it showed him striking the doormen with a dark object - it turned out to be a bag but it still gave the doorman a 3 inch cut on his head! Assault is assault, whether it be with a bag, hammer or crow bar - i know the amount of stuff my missus carries in her handbags and i'd know about it if some 6ft 2 black fella clubbed me round the head with it! ;D
