Freddy Eastwood was today officially slapped on the transfer list by Wolves. The 24-year-old striker, who arrived from Southend for £1.5m last summer, has been told by boss Mick McCarthy that he hasn’t done well enough and doesn’t fit into his team.
Championship rivals Coventry will make a fresh move for Eastwood in the coming weeks - but the fans’ favourite is definitely leaving Molineux.
“I have had discussions with him and he has been made available for transfer and he knows that,” said McCarthy.
“There are times when he has not done well enough.
“I have said to him maybe that’s me as well - Freddy is Freddy and he just does not fit into my team.
“It’s nothing personal, it’s just that he is not going to get into my side. He wants to play, so is available for transfer.”

Real shame, never given a chance here and i think he might have been successful given the opportunity, good bye Freddy.

We should sell Bradley Wright-Phillips and Rudi Skacel and sign Eastwood.

Quite glad to see the back of him to be honest, nothing against the guy, but if he isn't in the plans of the manager then I don't see the point of keeping him. Besides, in SEB, we know that we have someone that will knock in 25 goals again next year and won't cause any trouble off the pitch. Despite what has been said by MM and Eastwood, I still think that a lot went on behind the scenes that we never heard about.

I'd rather we started the campaign with Paul Ince in charge, but its not gonna happen. So lets get behind him hey, if we can make a strong start, i believe he is capable of getting us up.

Err, this is Sylvan Ebanks-has appeared before Plymouth magistrates to face a charge of assault after an alleged bottling incident outside a Union Street nightclub-Blake that we're talking about here, right?

Southdown - Exactly the point that I was going to make. SEB won't have a chance to cause any trouble off the pitch if he gets put in nick. Londonwolf - Yes we have got SEB but we could also keep Eastwood who scored 4 goals in his first 3 games which was a better impact than SEB. Then he scores in Bulgaria for Wales and then on his return he gets dropped, as for Kyle having a bigger impact After Kyle had played in 4 matches for Wolves that we had lost 3 and drawn one he said he was really enjoying things with Wolves (loser IMO). JODIE - Your right he was never given a chance Mad Mick realises that Eastwood has 20+ goals in him that is why he stopped the loan to Coventry. Could you imagine the fans reaction if he went out on loan to Coventry and started banging in the goals (which he would have done) while we on the other hand had Kyle helping us stumble away from the play off's. We will never know now but its all about bad management IMO, what happened to MM's aims for the season - automatic promotion was it not even the play off's

It does just look like a case of Eastwood not standing up straight and saluting quickly enough for Sgt Major McCarthy. He wouldn't be the first player to fall short of Mad Mick's exacting standards - a certain Roy Keane springs to mind! I honestly thought that Wolves were certainties for the play offs (at least) and that with Ebanks-Blake and Eastwood, you'd probably be top scorers as well...
