Got to admit, I think the reaction here is a bit excessive. Let's give the guy a chance first, eh?
And to those of you who complain about Britain being in decline, I say the say thing as I say to muslim extremists - if you don't like it, get out! ;D
Seriously, while I admit the economy concerns me (despite the official government position on it), we've still got it better than loads of other countries.

Give him a chance before you judge. Obviously it'll be expected that his government will be very much like the old regime seeing as he was the 2nd most powerful man under the old system for 10 years, but I'm not going to judge him after a day.

I'm afraid those of you who think this country isn't declining are deluded.
We ought to be an autarkic(self sufficient) country aiming to be the best at everything.
We're quite clearly not. UNESCO doesn't rate our education system. The transport infrastructure is pitiable compared to our European neighbours. The health service esp.the dentistry side of things is por compared to the standards in the likes of Germany & France.
The level & seriousness of crime is increasing despite the constant manipulation of the figures.
The brain drain to the US continues . Our armed forces are being over stretched & under resourced.
This pillock Brown has sold off our gold reserves destroyed the pension savings of countless thousands. The balance of trade deficit is appalling. Nearly all the heavy industry & skilled technical jobs have been lost or shipped overseas.
Brown has been collaborating with Blair over the last ten years. He's complicit in everything that has been done. The country is overpopulated thanks to the letting in any Tomas,Ali & Co in & aside from a very few areas isn't anything to crow about.
This country is fast losing it's identity from what it was even five years ago thanks in part to the PC educational indoctrination taking place in schools.
Of course we are in a superior position to many countries but we shouldn't be looking down we should be aiming to be the best. These gormless wonders lack any vision or ideas how to improve the country. Expect more of the same from another incompetent power hungry idiot.
These are the kind of scum who should be kicked out namely the Islington set & wooly liberals who hate everything British .

I shall say this only once: Ovechkin has a number of good and reasonable points there! However I'm not happy with his view on immigration, and the idea of kicking out the intellectual classes reminds me of - ooh - Stalin!
