What are the best away grounds to visit in the Championship.
I don't go to many away games, so I'm wanting to know which ones are worthwhile. Don't say your own club, and don't go by whether you won or not.
What are the best on atmosphere, facilities etc...
I've ordered tickets for Barnsley already, anyone got any other good suggestions?

I go to quite alot of away games, but the best one has always been Watford. It's a shame they went up, I absolutly loved going there, for some reason Wednesday fans go mad when we visit the vic and the atmosphere in the pub beforehand is nothing short of electric. It's always a great day out. We got Southend away next sat which i'm going to, a nice day out by the beach shagging all the essex birds its only half hour from me so should be good, proper piss up and that.

Luton has the worst facilities ive ever seen, the ground is a shithole, you get no leg space but the atmosphere is brilliant! Most ive ever enjoyed watching derby even though it was a shit match and we lost 1-0.

Crystal Palace and Millwall are both terrible. I've only got bad ones I'm afriad. I mean Southampton and Reading arn't that bad, but I couldn't mention a best.

Crystal Palace - Selhurst Park
Pro's:
nice burgers home fans outside the ground are welcoming and make you feel at home the tannoy man when palace score.... 'goalscorer for crystal palace ANDY JOHNSON.... ANDY???' JOHNSON!!!!! (johnson shouted by home fans) tis amusing! match programme is good quality, very good read half time entertainment is quite good easy to generate an atmosphere
Cons:
pillars in the away end ruin your view wooden seats for some away fans couldnt see the big screen from where i was sat!! home fans dont sing that much ground is very poor awful amount of leg room
I dont know about pubs etc.
twas a pretty good day out.

No way Selhurst Park is shit. Really really crowded in the section where you buy you're burgers and pies and stuff, you could be waiting in the que for half an hour! Maybe it's cos we bring too many fans, but the away section of Selhurst Park is one of the worst I've seen, probably not quite THE worst though.

Gojng back a few years, i remember taking 5000 to Wolves and winning 3-2, and taking a similar number to Bristol City and winning 2-1 - it kicked off at both - but the games were awesome!! Oh......and beating Man Utd at Old Trafford when Wanchope scored his wonder goal on debut!! BRILLIANT!! as regards Championship sides, i always like going to Sheff Wednesday, cos its a decent away end that generates plenty of noise - though it needs a lick of paint! The facilities at the newer grounds are always good eg Leicester etc but atmosphere is sometimes lacking at them. Open away ends are the worse, the sound just goes up and away - Barnsleys used to be open, but i aint been there for a while so i couldnt tell you for sure!

My first away game was in 1975, I was a mere 8 years old, and most of you lot were not even born. It involved a 6 hour car trip, a short ferry ride to calais and finally reaching Paris to watch Leeds united against Bayern Munich. The Stade du France was massive....maybe cos i was only four feet tall, but it was daunting. The place was packed and extremely loud...mostly leeds fans. The game was difficult to see for me...as back then most stood to watch the game, but I was pretty sure leeds scored judging by the noise, the ref disallowed it...and then the real fun started...waves of fans started cursing the referee, and some hooligans started trying to reach the bayern fans...it was time to leave early.
