Royals boss Steve Coppell today picked up the official League Managers' Association / Tissot award for the best managerial performance in 2005/6.
Steve has come out top of the Tissot Leage For Managers' Performance for the season following in the footsteps of Sir Alex Ferguson (2002/3), Arsene Wenger (2003/4) and Jose Mourinho (2004/5).
Steve was rated the best boss in the entire country, with previous winners Ferguson, Wenger and Mourinho and Rafael Benitez all lining up behind Coppell.
He finished as the only English-born manager in the top five and becomes the first manager to win the season-long Tissot League whilst competing outside of the top flight.
"I was delighted to win the quarterly Tissot League Award earlier this season, but this really does crown an amazing season for the fans, the Chairman, the coaching team, the players - and myself!," Coppell said.
"My profound thanks go to all of them - and Tissot, of course."
The award is based on the team's performance, and takes into account criteria such as the margin of victory in each game, matches won away from home and so on.
The trophy was presented by Northern Ireland boss ex-Royal Lawrie Sanchez.
