Tell us all about it H as i missed it. Id relied on the wifes best mate for a report but as she told me JP won the pen i`ll take it with a pinch of salt
. Id rather get it from someone who watched the game ;D
Here you go HGO - My short view on the game.
what a second half performance yesterday.
Spirited, worked hard, were brimming with confidence, showed loads of passion and we came within a whisker of beating the Champions.
First half, I thought we were totally outclassed, we couldn't get anywhere near Reading. It was easy to see why they are doing so well. They work for one another and have that fluency in their play. But I felt we mirrored their first half display in the second period. We did all the running, all the hard work and created some decent openings. How MacLean managed to miss that double chance, i'll never know. I was up in arms celebrating.
No one can say, Reading we'rent up for it or they didn't care or they took their foot of the pedal because that isn't true. Since securing promotion and clinching the Championship title, they beat Derby 5-0, Cardiff away 5-2 and Stoke at home 3-1. Also after speaking to a few Reading fans prior to kick-off they were saying how desperate they are to wipe out Sunderland's points tally. But we didn't roll over and were more then a match for them.
It was even more sweet after reading the headline in the sun which said something like. READING SHOULD WALLOP WEAK WEDNESDAY. Again the Sun talking their usual boll ocks.
Fantastic atmosphere, absolutly brilliant. I sat two rows from the top of the kop and their was non stop singing.
So pleased some of our moronic fans listened to Sturrock and kept of the pitch at the end. It would have been a travesty had they not been allowed back out because of some idiots. It happened a few years back against QPR which was so effing annoying at the time.
Day started brilliant, about to catch the train to Sheffield and who do I spot in the corner, yep the one and only Michael Vaughan ready to catch the same train as us up to Sheffield.
Absolutly brilliant, and I have completed my before season aim of attening 15-20 games this season, yesterday was my 16th.
Oh and a special mention to our boss for sticking to his word. Promised fans that if we managed to stay up with a few games remaining, he would wear a kilt. Absolute Legend.
FANTASTIC
