Stoke defender Carl Hoefkens had received a massive blow in that he may miss the rest of the season with a suspected broken foot. The 28-year-old Belgium international sustained the injury in the 4-0 defeat to Portugal on Saturday and will have a scan to determine the extent of the damage. The news is part of a double blow to Potters boss Tony Pulis who will also be without Northern Ireland Under-21 forward Martin Paterson for the next few weeks after he picked up a hamstring injury whilst on International duty. Pulis told the Stoke Sentinel: "He's (Hoefkens) come back with a bad looking injury. "We're hoping we are wrong, but at the moment we are fearing the worst. "A scan he had taken after the match suggests there is a break, but we're having our own scans done to confirm this. "Either way, we can forget about him for the game against Leicester on Saturday. And if it is a fracture, then I can't see him playing again this season."
