Bangoura exit talk escalates
FC Brussels chairman Johan Vermeersch has claimed a deal is in the offing to sign Stoke striker Sammy Bangoura in the January transfer window.
The Guinea international has fallen out of favour at the Championship side having gone AWOL for a second time in September.
His erratic time-keeping and discipline has not sat well with club officials and it now looks as though a deal could be agreed to send him to Brussels, initially for six months on loan, with a view to a permanent transfer.
The 24-year-old initially impressed on making the move to England but it now looks as though his sojourn at The Britannia Stadium could be drawing to a close.
"We can also agree a purchase option," confirmed Vermeersch.
Bangoura has figured just four times this season, three of which were substitute appearances, and it now seems his future could lie in Belgium, where he previously played for Standard Liege.
Ironically, it has been reported that Stoke could return to Belgium and Liege, in a bid to find Bangoura's replacement.
Sergei Kovalenko is thought to be their target, with the Ukrainian having been told he can leave by his current paymasters.
All im saying on him is he would be a great player if he could sort his attitude out he would be playing in the prem...
