Watford cleared for ground revamp

Watford have been granted planning permission for the first phase of a proposed £32.5m redevelopment of their Vicarage Road ground.

Work on the first phase will begin in May.

Watford chairman Graham Simpson said: "This is a pivotal moment in the history of this great club.

"This will now enable us to look forward to a new era of life at Vicarage Road and push on towards our goal of redeveloping the East Stand."

If they plan to enclose the stands I hope they get some tunnels under the corners & Graham Taylor Stand to aerate the pitch.

The fanbase of our wonderful club should be larger but sadly many shysters opt to go the gloryhunting route.

Dont know about the housing idea aside from the fact the HA will provide half the funds. The way things are going they might as well concrete over the whole country.
