This man only speaks sense! ......
Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd hinted he would shy away from signing high-profile players in the Premiership.
The Hornets are virtually certain to earn a play-off place in the Championship this term, and are only six points adrift of an automatic promotion spot.
The Watford board have indicated funds would be available to Boothroyd, but the 35-year-old boss - who celebrated a year in the job this week - suggested he would not sign players on reputation alone.
"If we were lucky enough to be successful, I'm not the type to go out and start getting big-name players," said Boothroyd, whose side face promotion rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Friday.
"I will not change our philosophy, regardless of whether we are in League Two or the Premiership.
"I have worked with enough players to know that the big names do not matter - it is the substance of the man that counts."
Young Genius. No point wasting £ on well known players, when you can get players who always give 110% and are loyal & much cheaper!
