Will Loudon crack the England ranks this summer ? Groenwald qualifies for England via his mum.

Warwickshire 490ao and 113-6 Lancashire 330ao Warwickshire leading by 273 runs going into the final day. Would say try and get to 350 ahead if possible then declare and give a chance of bowling Lancs out. Can see us being bowled out before that though tbh. Just hope Streak uses Loudon more against Lancs in their second innings. Their spinner was their best bowler by some way in both innings, so Streak persisted in 5 specialist seamers instead and then Maddy as a part time seam bowler ahead of Loudon.

Well, 12 points taken from the match. Good to see maximum batting and bowling points, but with hindsight always being 20/20, methinks Streak should have enforced the follow on, then the decision to declare on an unwinnable target for Lancashire always meant they were never gonna chase the win and they quite sensibly opted to bat out the draw.
Well, the Friends Providednt Trophy starts tomorrow at home against Northants, then onto Sussex next week at Edgbaston in the County Championship.

Well, it was left late, but after Northants put together 297-6 from their 50 overs in the Friends Provident Trophy, the Bears won by 6 wickets. 301-4 off 49.5 overs. A win off the penultimate ball of the match. A result like that against Sussex this week will do very nicely. ;D

A win off the penultimate ball of the match. Also good to see Ambrose at Trott getting centuries. Ambrose putting a case forward to still be behind the stumps when Sangakara arrives, and that should do Trott the world of good after his pair against Lancs. A result like that against Sussex this week will do very nicely. ;D

Well, I'm partly surprised at Maddy being named captain when he's only just joined, but at the same time, he's the most experienced in the team by a fair bit so the obvious choice I suppose. I did think some of Streak's captaincy was debatable I have to admit against Lancs, so maybe Maddy will freshen things up in this match tomorrow.

Well, my supported county holds a firm lead over my home county having scored 610-6 delcared. Worcestershire closing on 116-2. Meanwhile, Warwickshire set a club record sixth wicket partnership of 226 between Ambrose and Streak. Ambrose's 251 not out was the highest score by a wicket keeper in ten years. Alas, the highest score by a Warwickshire keeper is 254, so Ambrose just missed out on setting a county record. I reckon he'd have got it too, the form he was in. Never mind though, fantastic achievement!
