in predicting the finishing positions last season, as posted on here and on the BBC, I aim to repeat my ability in getting all the finishing places spot on.
I have carried out an in depth analysis of all the teams involved, taken into account transfers, and can now confirm THIS is how it will finish
1 West Brom - kept the nucleus of the squad together and seem strong all round
2. Leeds - this time it's gonna happen. With some MAJOR new signings, a sold out Elland Rd and the astute management skills of Kevin Blackwell, the Mighty Whites will return to where they belong
3. Derby - Billy Davies will do for Derby what he did for Preston. A good manager who knows what he's doing, the Rams will seal a play off place but might just miss out on promotion, as is Davies' style.
4. Palace - with no AJ to dive around the penalty box, and Plug off to Charlton, Palace will do well to reach the play offs but that's as far as it will go. And the nation will rejoice
5. Birmingham - would love to say no Heskey + no Pennant = no chance. But the division looks fairly weak this season and I think they will sneak into the play offs and get promoted. Goddamn it
6. Leicester - Despite the place being a blot on the landscape, the team played decent football towards the end of last season. If they can build on that, they can reach the play offs. Should still be nuked though
7. Southampton - Will be the model of inconsistency and hover around the play offs all season
8. Norwich - KICK IT OFF with a defeat at Leeds and they will struggle to improve on last season. Worthington to be sacked by Christmas and they will start to do better
9. Sunderland - A season of rebuilding as the Mighty Quinn tries to entice a proper manager to the club. Great support but I think they wil struggle to adjust
10. Cardiff - The national pastime of sheep shagging will be more interesting than watching this lot.
11. Ipswich - the youngsters might get off to a flying start, but will fade away as the season unfolds. Shame, they're ok are the Binners.
12. Coventry - Another season of underachievment. Should do a lot better than they will.
13. Wolves - As per Coventry except Mad Mick Mac will take away any entertaining football and turn them into the no score draw kings
14. Preston - bubble has burst. Davies had enough of this small time club and rightly so. If Nugent goes, they will be struggling to avoid relegation
15. Burnley - Who cares? Nobody. Not on here at least
16. Plymouth - Lots of noise will come from Laura and the Green Army on here, but 16th represents yet another remarkably successful season for the Pilgrims.
17. Luton - last season was a flash in the pan. Seeing Watford go up was more than they can bear, and with Nicholls off to Leeds they will only just stay up.
18. Wednesday - Would like to see them do better, but they won't. Will struggle to score
19. Stoke - yawn
20. Hull - Will surprise a few teams but not consistently enough and will struggle after Xmas
21. QPR - Shite but sadly not quite shite enough to go down
22. Colchester. WTF are they doing up here? Get back down where you belong
23. Southend - might as well just jump off the pier now. Well done for getting promoted but bye bye
24. Barnsley - Taking points off Wendy and managing to concede less than 5 against Leeds will be their targets. Relegated by Easter.
So there you have it. Thoughts anyone?
