MILLWALL
www.thelionstrust.co.uk Who were the stars - and who flopped? Best news was the emergence of 18-year-old Marvin Williams. There was good progress, too, from two other youngsters, top scorer Ben May and left-back Tony Craig. The attitude of these three has been faultless, unlike that of some senior players, such as Dave Livermore and former favourite Matt Lawrence. I was more impressed with the 1,500 struggling Wednesday brought than high-flying Sheffield United's 700. 1 Ady Williams (Coventry); 2 Colin Cameron (Wolves); 3 Steve Sidwell (Reading); 4 Paul Ifill (Sheff Utd); 5 David Nugent (Preston)

www.thelionstrust.co.ukHow was your season? We started in total turmoil, with all saleable players sold and no replacements signed. We've had five managers and three chairmen in the past 12 months, so relegation always looked likely. But it's still depressing as the situation was rescuable at various stages. With loans, youth players and injuries, we've used an incredible 35 players this season.
Happy with the gaffer? Our latest caretaker manager, Alan McLeary, is just that, and hopefully we'll have a new, experienced manager appointed in the next two weeks. www.ccsc.co.uk even by our own pre-season expectations. We've played some good football aided by Jason Koumas who has been the best and most consistent performer in the division, bar none. It was worth paying for a season ticket to watch him warm up.
Happy with the gaffer? Dave Jones has created a great team spirit in the dressing room and has the team playing really well - he's also proved to be very astute in the transfer market after losing nine players, including Danny Gabbidon and James Collins.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? Cameron Jerome has been a revelation and is certainly going to play in the top flight at some stage. I don't want to single out any players as being bad. Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Southampton's fans were very loud, as were Sheffield United, but they got promoted on the day. Millwall didn't bring many and only sang one song.

LEEDS Observer reader have reached the play-offs is a great achievement and if we can get back into the Premiership it'd be massive. If you'd asked me where we'd finish at the start of the season, realistically, I'd have said top half - and to be honest we'd have been happy with that.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? Garry Kelly was the player of the season, but Neil Sullivan, David Healy, Shaun Derry and Liam Miller also stood out and played consistently well. Not so good were Sean Gregan and Eddie Lewis: neither had a particularly good season.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Watford helped make it a really great atmosphere. The worst were the crowd in Sheffield Wednesday colours, some of whom mocked our disabled supporters. 1 Marlon King (Watford); 2 Ibrahima Sonko (Reading); 3 Danny Shittu (QPR); 4 Dave Kitson (Reading); 5 Kenny Miller (Wolves)

Happy with the gaffer? Kevin Blackwell's done a good job this season - and so has Ken Bates.

DERBY STEVEN PYEFINCH Observer reader How was your season? Hugely disappointing compared to last year's campaign. The board keep selling our best players. I'm glad it's all over.
Happy with the gaffer? I was sorry to see George Burley leave at the end of last season, but you can't blame him given the sort of people he was working for. We started this season with Phil Brown, which turned out to be a disaster, and Terry Westley steadied the ship - but I'm not sure he's the right choice to take us forward. That said, managers of a decent calibre haven't been queuing up to join us because of the board. Maybe the takeover will change that.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? Inigo Idiakez and Tommy Smith shone, as did teenagers Giles Barnes and Lewin Nyatanga. Darren Moore has tightened up the defence since he signed.
And the flops? Everyone else.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Sheffield United brought the most and were quite vocal. We have a history with Millwall - can't say I'm sorry to see them relegated.
Top hate figure at another club? Dennis Wise - he always ends up on the winning side.

PLYMOUTH BEN SMART Observer reader How was your season? Excellent. Safe with a couple of games to spare after most teams had us down to get relegated at the start of the season. This has been the worst season on record as far as goalscoring is concerned, though: we've failed to score in more than 20 games. But we do look like a Championship side.
Happy with the gaffer? I am: he achieved what he set out to do at the start of the season. Pulis did well in the transfer market, too, and the loan signings he made certainly helped us turn the corner. But next season he could be a little more positive.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? David Norris was consistently our top performer. Matthias Doumbe and keeper Romain Larrieu deserve praise, too. Micky Evans worked hard but found it difficult to score - his barren run dates back to 17 September. Rufus Brevett had some inexcusably bad performances before he was farmed out to Leicester.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Cardiff were the best to visit us. Burnley and Leicester City are the worst.

PRESTON JAMES BLACK
www.wtjotp.co.ukHow was your season? Superb - really exceeded expectations. If anything, we're playing even better going into the play-offs this time around than we were 12 months ago, though the defeat against West Ham in Cardiff is still fresh in the memory, so nobody's getting too carried away.
Happy with the gaffer? Definitely; the best manager we've had in my lifetime. He's done an amazing job with few resources. Despite all the players we've sold and the injuries we've suffered, he's got us playing great football.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? The defence have been outstanding, with Claude Davis looking unbeatable and Carlo Nash equalling the club record with 23 clean sheets so far. The only flop was Dickson Etuhu, who thankfully we sold to Norwich.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Plymouth were impressive, considering how far they travelled to watch a 0-0 draw, while Norwich were disappointing.
Top hate figure at another club? David Healy, now at Leeds, who'll be even more hated if he scores against us in the play-offs.

QPR STEPHEN HASELER Observer reader How was your season? At one point it looked like we'd push for a play-off spot, but things slipped as the injuries mounted - we didn't have the strength in depth to sustain a challenge. With Kevin Gallen out and Paul Furlong failing to find his touch, it was frustrating to watch. We've got players with the talent but haven't really found a way to get the best from them.
Happy with the gaffer? Yes, Gary Waddock's done well since coming in. He appears to be an intelligent man and gets the team playing a good passing game. I hope we give him the job on a full-time basis.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? Lee Cook had a excellent season, as did Danny Shittu. Furlong doesn't get enough goals but does a good job in holding the ball up and retaining possession. Richard Langley, though, failed to live up to expectations.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Watford were loud. But the local shop keepers close the shutters whenever Cardiff visit and Millwall fans aren't very pleasant.
Top hate figure at another club? Cardiff's Neil Ardley.
TOP FIVE BEST OPPOSITION PLAYERS 1 Marcus Hahnemann (Reading); 2 Nicky Shorey (Reading); 3 Kevin Doyle (Reading); 4 Dave Kitson (Reading); 5 Ibrahima Sonko (Reading)
READING MARTIN BRAILLI Observer reader How was your season? The greatest in our history - and that's saying something for a 135-year-old club. We've set records, played great football, scored loads, seen unknown players develop into stars and will be making our bow in the top flight. It doesn't get much better than this. Many of us never thought we'd see Reading in this position.
Happy with the gaffer? No. Ecstatic. Who were the stars - and who flopped? Every player has been a star: it's been a team achievement. But Glen Little has been a delight - probably the most sublime player in the division.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Stoke were disappointing - they used to bring huge noisy crowds; now they bring barely anyone. I thought Sheffield Wednesday were impressive. Special mention for Leicester - on the day we gained promotion at the Walkers they were superb to us and we thank them.
Top hate figure at another club? Nigel Quashie and Neil Warnock. Quashie for declaring that Saints were the best team in the league even though we were already streets ahead of them. Warnock for the same reasons everyone else will nominate him.

SHEFFIELD WED TREVOR BRAITHWAIT
www.fansfc.com How was your season? The realistic target was survival - we achieved that with two games left so, yes, it's a successful season!
Happy with the gaffer? Very much so. Given our well documented debt, Paul Sturrock faced a thankless task but, with some canny dealings in January and more recently in the loan market, he ably steered us away from relegation.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? Graham Coughlan deservedly won our numerous player-of-the-year awards. Scott Carson also played a crucial role during his loan spell from Liverpool. Chris Brunt and Glenn Whelan have struggled.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Sheffield United managed to fill the away end. Leeds' following was particularly poor, though. Special mention must go to the Brighton fans who made the long trek north on a midweek evening for a live Sky game.
Top hate figure at another club? Mr Warnock - who else... It's not 'hate' so much with him as the pleasure of watching Blades fans squirm as their manager moves from one controversy to the next. I hope the Premiership is prepared.

HULL ANDY BEILL
www.hullcityonline.com How was your season? We wanted to compete in this division and stay clear of relegation and, while our attempts to do so weren't helped by injuries, the bottom three rarely looked like creeping up on us.
Happy with the gaffer? Some fans will always have unrealistic expectations, but Peter Taylor's done a very good job in difficult circumstances.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? Goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has been outstanding. Defender Leon Cort has been consistent, and centre-forward Jon 'The Beast' Parkin made an impact. Stuart Elliott failed to repeat his form of last season and his future at the club is under question.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Burnley fans have got behind their team throughout. A lot of Cardiff fans didn't seem interested in the football.
Top hate figure at another club? Sheffield United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny angered our fans at Bramall Lane for getting away with a clear foul in the box, time-wasting and taunting our supporters after his side scored the winner.
TOP FIVE BEST OPPOSITION PLAYERS 1 Kenny Miller (Wolves); 2 Seth Johnson (Derby); 3 Dennis Wise (Coventry); 4 Joey Gudjonsson (Leicester); 5 Darren Ward (Palace) SHEFFIELD UTD RICHARD BATHO
www.thebladesonline.com How was your season? Fantastic. Our promotion season finished with three weeks to spare, which was totally unlike anything we're used to. For the first time Neil Warnock was able to bring in some new players of a quality that made a real difference, and we played some excellent football.
Happy with the gaffer? He may be a madman, but he's our madman and we love him. Many said at the beginning of the season that this'd be his last chance, but he's certainly answered his critics and deserves an opportunity to manage in the top flight.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? There isn't enough space to list the stars. Paddy Kenny kept goal superbly. David Unsworth made a big contribution at the back. The midfield was the best in the division. And Neil Shipperley and Danny Webber formed a vital partnership up front.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Millwall's travelling hardcore of support may be small, but they're loud. The worst fans are Hull's. Top hate figure at another club? Not so much hate figure but hate club - Leeds.
TOP FIVE BEST OPPOSITION PLAYERS 1 Dave Kitson (Reading); 2 Nathan Dyer (Soton); 3 Joleon Lescott (Wolves); 4 Ashley Young (Watford); 5 Marlon King (Watford) STOKE ROB STANWAY
www.stokecity-mad.co.uk How was your season? It started off pretty with us feeling optimistic - the team played well up until Christmas. But then our form started to take a turn for the worse, mainly because of a disappointing management dispute. But looking ahead to next season I think we've got the right team to make progress.
Happy with the gaffer? Johan Boskamp is a good manager despite his tendency to throw his toys out of the pram. But to be honest I'm hoping we appoint someone in his stead before the start of next season.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? Forward Sammy Bangoura was a star before the African Nations Cup but was an inexplicable flop upon his return.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Reading's fans mirrored the great spirit their players showed on the pitch and were clearly enjoying themselves. Millwall didn't travel in large numbers. Birmingham's supporters, in the Cup, were the most provocative.
Top hate figure at another club? Most fans still hate Burnley manager Steve Cotterill for walking out on us. TOP FIVE BEST OPPOSITION PLAYERS 1 Andy Johnson (Palace); 2 Leroy Lita (Reading); 3 Ade Akinbyi (Sheff Utd); 4 Michael Tonge (Sheff Utd); 5 Marlon King (Watford)
SOUTHAMPTON CHRIS COLBY
www.saints-mad.co.uk How was your season? A rude awakening in the Championship. We started off well and looked a decent striker short of a team heading for the play-offs. But wins turned to draws and then to losses with the change in manager and a massive turnover of players. It's taken until the end of the season to come full circle and string some wins together.
Happy with the gaffer? I was surprised and delighted when Burley was appointed and, despite a poor string of results when he arrived, he's slowly turned our form around.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? The star was Theo Walcott; it was a blow to lose him so early. Our only constants were Danny Higginbotham and Claus Lundekvam, with the latter edging player of the season for his return to form. Ricardo Fuller deserves a mention for turning from zero to hero in fans' eyes.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? The best were the Leeds fans who sung 'We're going to win 4-3' at 3-0 down. It was the turning point of our season when they turned out to be right. Didn't hear a peep out of the few Crewe fans to make the long trip south.
Top hate figure at another club? It has to be Palace's Andy Johnson for his diving.
TOP FIVE BEST OPPOSITION PLAYERS 1 Joleon Lescott (Wolves); 2 Inigo Idiakez (Derby); 3 Andy Johnson (C Palace); 4 Marcus Hahnemann (Reading); 5 Jason Koumas (Cardiff)
WOLVES TOM SPERRINK
www.wolvesfansite.co.ukHow was your season? Chief executive Jez Moxey summed up the season in his pre-match notes before the home game against Watford, describing it as a 'complete disaster'. To not even make the play-offs as well as being 11 points adrift is unacceptable considering the size of the club and the size of Glenn Hoddle's budget.
Happy with the gaffer? His position seems untenable to me: he's wasted the club's final parachute payment on underachievers.
Who were the stars - and who flopped? Joleon Lescott has been by far the best player and stands out from most of the players in the Championship. He clearly should be playing at a higher level. The biggest flop was £1.4 million striker Tomasz Frankowski, who failed to score in his 16 appearances.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Cardiff caused a riot. The best were Brighton, who sang their hearts out even though they'd already gone down. True spirit.
Top hate figure at another club? No one at any other club frustrated me as much as Seol Ki-Hyeon at ours: so much ability and skill but never an end product
TOP FIVE BEST OPPOSITION PLAYERS 1 Scott Carson (Sheff Wed); 2 Bobby Convey (Reading); 3 Gary McSheffrey (Coventry); 4 Theo Walcott (Soton); 5 Marlon King (Watford)
WATFORD MATT ROWSON
www.bsad.org How was your season? Many of us went into it expecting a relegation battle at best - instead we're in the play-offs. It's come on the back of the first investment in the squad since the Vialli disaster, but a huge achievement none the less or Adrian Boothroyd's team. So what happen next?Any of the four sides could win it on the right day. That certainly includes us.
Happy with the gaffer? More than happy. Who were the stars - and who flopped? There've been stars all over the park, ncluding, but not restricted to, Foster, Doyley, Demerit, Young, Bangura and of course 'Big Doris' Henderson and Marlon. There were also a large number of flops who were shipped out quietly, having been hurriedly signed in the close-season melee; Sietes, Adam Griffiths and Junior have descended into legend.
Who were the best, and worst, away fans? Luton were both the best and the worst. That the prospect of their arrival necessitated military-level planning was the bad side, but all behaved and 'You're not singing any more' to an empty Vicarage Road as they were locked in was the chant of the season.
Top hate figure at another club? Glenn Hoddle. Laughable.
