Yeah... well that whole "live fast, die young, leave a beautiful corpse" idea has been perpetuated for too long... though what exactly constitutes a "beautiful corpse" is beyond me...! Alyson Hannigan while she's still warm? ;D Would you do her after shes been dead 3 hours or Jessica Alba when she's pissed out of her head?

I suppose, if you were born a heterosexual male with no sexual organs - and thus were guaranteed to die a virgin - the beautiful corpse thing might work. I mean, if you die young and gorgeous, you might at least get the dignity of being deflowered before being buried/incinerated

I don't see whats wrong with men expressing their feelings, but I appreciate that some men don't want to and some can't do it, its just "not them" to talk about things etc... I am not very good with men that cry, especially in my line of work, with dad's that cry when their little ones are poorly or have died etc.. but I guess it depends on the situation and the appropriateness of putting your arm round their shoulders etc.. I have a few male friends that tend to bottle things up, but then again I know better than to ask now, as I know them fairly well that they won't talk about things, so there is no point in pressing them into it. I also know and Neil for one will definitely agree with this one, is that I am very open and honest person and if someone asks me what I think then I will tell them (subtly of course!!), I think thats why some find it easy to talk to me as I tell it as it is and wouldn't lie to them. I feel that I wouldn't be a true friend if I lied to them!! I agree entirely; I don't see anything wrong with men expressing themselves either. You admit that you don't find it easy to deal with crying men, though - can you honestly think of why that is? The only reason I can imagine is because it's just not expected of men. I don't think that its due to it not being expected, its just that when its a complete stranger then for a girl, to hug a man (who could actually be the dad of a child) can be a bit awkward, maybe its the not knowing how they will react. A mum though, on the other hand who is upset, is easier to comfort - must be a girl thing I don't know. If it was a man I knew and felt comfortable with then he would be easier to console, hug etc...
