I can't cry I generally keep my shit to myself, and only open up to very close friends and some times regret it when I do. I maybe funking crazy but on the inside I keep myself to myself. I'd never pour everything out to anyone though, I've grown up to tough shit out and deal with it myself. I don't seek help because I have confidence that I can deal with my own shit, I will ask frends for advice, but I don't want to expose every fragile part of me. I grow stronger with everything I work myself though, I take a licking but just keep on ticking. Whatever works for you is the right way... in short! FUNK! That's what works for me! Y'all should try it, you live longer , lose weight and funking be more at peace with the world.

Seriously here are some good lyrics about suicide.
WELL FUCK THEM! AND FUCK HER! AND FUCK HIM! AND FUCK YOU! For not having The strenght in your heart To pull through! I've had doubts! I have failed! I've fucked up! I've had plans! Doesn't mean I should take My Life With my own hands
But these words They can't repace The life you... ...the life you waste
Don't take your life with your own hands no words can replace the life you waste, everyone fails....

Seriously here are some good lyrics about suicide. <snip> Don't take your life with your own hands no words can replace the life you waste, everyone fails.... What was that?! I think the point is that once you've gone, you're not going to care, nothing can affect you any more, and there will be no pain on the other side (unless religion actually speaks truth). Having said those things - don't do it kids! However bad life may seem, it can always improve...

It was from a band called Staind, it's saying it's a waste of life, you don't have to do it, everybody has shit, don't be stupid.

Alice Cooper did the best song on that subject, especially considering the time it was released. In the man's own words, "I wrote this because I was looking round at rock music, and everyone was talking about taking drugs, about killing themselves - and I thought 'What the hell is going on here?' So I wrote this to say to kids, 'Hey, there's another way - don't listen to that shit.'" Hey bro, take it slow You ain't living in a video You're flying low at a high velocity No doubt, you're stressing out That ain't what rock 'n' roll's about Get off the one-way trip down lonely street
Now I know you've been kicked around You ain't alone in this ugly town But you stick a needle in your arm You bite the dust, you buy the farm
[Chorus] Hey, hey hey hey - hey stoopid What ya trying to do? Hey, hey hey hey - hey stoopid They win, you lose Hey, hey hey hey... hey stoopid!
C'mon girl, it's a bitter day Now get your foot out of that grave Don't let that one love tear your world apart Come on babe, kick that stuff And show the street it ain't so tough Quit lyin' round with a crippled broken heart
Now I know you've been seeing red Don't put a pistol to your head Sometimes your answer's heaven-sent Your way is so damn permanent
[Chorus]
This ain't your daddy talking You know, I know Your story ain't so shocking You know, I know Lose some steam... come on and scream!
[Chorus]Fucking superb couplet

It's funny though, all these experts on suicide - I think unless one has been *properly* suicidal, there's no way we can understand what goes through the head. I mean, I'm sure many of us have had days/moments when it feels like we're tumbling down a bottomless spirit pit... but it still isn't the same as being chronically (and clinically) a suicide risk.

Why are you being so sceptical man, don’t you like the point the lyrics make? (the lyrics were written by someone who is clinically depressed, he takes valium and I'd guess he has considered suicide.)

I think what I don't like is all the talk about suicide victims being weak, being stupid, etc. I don't like that element of judging people who end their lives, I think it's simply tragic, but not necessarily stupid or weak

Suicide is a choice though (unless there are those with serious metal problems). It's the waste of life, that is frustrating, there are other ways but they take the completely wrong way out of it, not really thinking about the impact of their actions. Isn't there that old Christmas film I forget the name, where a guy is about to commit suicide and some ghost or angle shows him what life would be like without him and how the people who love or care about him now have to learn to cope living without him, showing the grief he has caused.? You must dig that?

In Alice Cooper's case, he's saying the act itself is "stoopid" (which is marginally different to stupid, hence why he wrote it like that) - there's all kinds of help and support available if you ask for it, and it's not exactly a choice you can take back afterwards. His point is that you shouldn't do it, things can always get better, no matter how unlikely it seems. I'd certainly rate his approach above the likes of Nirvana's 'I Hate Myself And I Want To Die' (which is one of the songs he has picked out in the past), for example...

You must dig that? Okay, that just seems to be what several people are saying. Of course I agree it can be a frustrating and upsetting "waste" of a life. "It's a Wonderful Life" - I've never seen it actually, but what bothers me is the reasoning behind it always being shown at Christmas! It breaks my heart to think of so many sad and lonely people at Xmas contemplating suicide, and that film being the only thing to stop them?! Sure, I dig the concept of the film though...

I think that it can involve enormous strength actually, it's one thing to consider it, and a whole other to actually DO it! As for intelligent, I could come up with a mildly spurious argument, but it doesn't seem worth the bother! ;D Hmmm......! Yes there is help and support, but... bleh, I think that is misjudging the mental state of such a person. Ye-es... I'd like to think that song has never "persuaded" anyone into an act they would otherwise not have considered though.

I've not seen the film either but it's not about the film it's about thinking, 'is this really what I should be doing, will things improve for everyone if this happens' if you don't care about people (especially your family) after your dead then you're selfish, and people who take other innocent people with them when they commit suicide are evil. Like fathers who kill they're children at the same time. Suicide is one of the most selfish acts you can do because you're only thinking about yourself.

Yeah there are some bad cases, and some worse cases - like that guy who parked his car across a level-crossing on the main rail line between Paddington and Wales/The South West a few years ago. However your criticisms don't apply to everyone - that's all.

I'd like to think that song has never "persuaded" anyone into an act they would otherwise not have considered though. Don't mistake desperation for strength. I can vouch all too well for the mental state of such people; I've paid serious thought to it in the past, but instead went down the 'coping technique' path, and my brother attempted it last year. In both our cases, we know in hindsight how fucking stupid it was, but we both had the bullshit mentality where we're not "supposed" to talk about our feelings, to bring the conversation back round to the original post. It was, incidentally, a common theme in our house; my sister was never encouraged to either, though she ended up running away to live with Dad who's a lot more open than my mum and step-dad were. That song isn't the only example; the point there is that there were undeniably artists singing songs that could easily be interpreted as glorifying it. Alice Cooper decided to paint the opposite picture, and was the only one doing so at the time - and I say fair play to him for that.

Uh-huh... sorry to hear you were in that place. Well there we are, I think I said originally I thought it was a bad idea to bottle things up - there's the danger of one day exploding! However it seems people get to the same conclusion by different routes and that's fine too. Yeah... well that whole "live fast, die young, leave a beautiful corpse" idea has been perpetuated for too long... though what exactly constitutes a "beautiful corpse" is beyond me...!
