Our winger, full back and 2nd row were all originally footballers, and they are faster (and bigger) now than they were when they started! can't have been good at football then Being honest IF rugby players were as agile, fast and had the stamina of footballers, ALL top footballers would be built like rugby players, wouldn't they? Mort, have you seen some rugby players? I know more rugby players who are fit and agile than Football players! Look at Rob Burrow, Richie Mathers, even (gulp) Sean Long, who are short and skinny, but still brilliant rugby players. (Richie isn't so skinny anymore, but you get my drift)

I remember Kevin Campbell for one as a football who having increased in sized physically lost out ability wise!

I remember Kevin Campbell for one as a football who having increased in sized physically lost out ability wise! Rugby players play for 80 mins. I don't buy into all this crap that fat makes you less agile. I haven't had a problem ducking out of tackles, ar running and scoring in hockey, since I started playing rugby too, I put on too much weight at first, but now I'm back to 13 stone and I think I have benifited in both Sports. I have played both codes of rugby, i've played hockey and i've played football... and I think that footballers could put more on, but then they would be accused of being out of shape, thats the reason they don't. it's all about vainity, nothing else

Imagine a scrawny footballer in one of those tops - Jonny Wilkinson wouldn't have much to worry about!!!

(yes i'm using bruce lee as the top notch in the agility stakes)

I have to agree, Lee Martin who is currently with us at Plymouth has a very nice 6-pack that I just "happened" to notice the other week and do believe commented about at the time, much to the embarrassment of Neil and Janner!! I still maintain that my Argyle boys are the most gorgeous in the Championship I HAVE THAT NAKED CALENDAR REMEMBER!!
