If Spain don't find a higher gear than they've been playing so far, I reckon we're gonna have a Holland vs germany final. That said, any of them are good enough to win it now. Who'd have guessed Uruguay would be the last South American side standing?

They're all playing for the trophy I'd love Uruguay to go on and win the whole thing but they are massive underdogs tonight, will be playing a weakened side; without Suarez after his ultimate show of sacrifice in the quarter final game v Ghana, without Lodeiro the midfield creator, without Lugano the rock at the back... Still, I'll be supporting La Celeste this evening. Simply amazing a country with a population of around 3 million can do so well. This will be the 10th time South America play Europe in a world cup semi-final - Europe have only won 2. Vamos La Garra Charrúa! If Uruguay don't fare well, I'd just love to see a Holland v Germany final. They have a bit of history, those two.

without Suarez after his ultimate show of sacrifice Interesting romanticist take on the scenario there... I'd call it a deserved suspension after blatant cheating, myself: In situations like that, I'm inclined to say the goal should be allowed to stand as well as the red card given - I don't think you could argue that the ball would've missed without his intervention. That's a whole other debate, mind. Personally, I'd like to see Holland win it. They gave us sexy football in the 70's and had two Final defeats for it; they're due a return on playing enjoyable football sometime soon

The ultimate sacrifice, as was the case with Suarez here, still warranted a red card, I haven't argued otherwise... What you call it, is true, it is also true that it was an ultimate act of sacrifice. The free kick that led to the incident I am talking about, should never have been awarded, anyway. As for having the goal to stand etc, that would require a rule change. I'm sure Sepp would be interested to hear from all footy fans! ;D Tabarez (The Uruguay coach): Asked whether his side had profited from the Ajax striker cheating, Tabarez replied: "I'm embarrassed by what has been asked. That is shameful. "It was an instinctive act. Suarez couldn't foresee what happened afterwards, that Ghana would miss the penalty. Don't talk to me about a lack of modesty. "We are very proud and we're upset with this topic. We're proud of our performances and what we've contributed to the development of football at this World Cup. "Uruguay went through almost three matches without a yellow card at all, so please don't tell me we're cheats."

I expect Suarez is one of the most nervous inside Durban stadium tonight. ;D
Vamos La Garra Charrúa!
