Question is, how do you rate your chances against the Germans USA gets to play Ghana, an interesting matchup & one that has a bit of a revenge factor to go along with it. ...The USA vs. Ghana Round of 16 game is a rematch of their meeting from the 2006 World Cup in the Group stage. Ghana defeated the US that year 2-1, sending the USA home in the first round, a disappointing finish particularly after the US side had played eventual champion Italy to an even 1-1 draw.

Normally, I'd say we're screwed - but in all fairness, Germany missed their first penalty for 36 years in their last-but-one game, so the omens are slowly turning...

Penalties is a requisite, I feel - it's not a World Cup otherwise.
I reckon England'll be taking penalties second, and both sides will score the first three. After Germany score their fourth, Rooney'll step up and not will he only score, he'll take the keeper's head clean off in the process. Despite this, John Terry will still somehow miss England's fifth, dumping us out of the cup.

We'll be all over Germany and lose one nil in extra time. After two scandalously poor performances and one that was really pretty average, going out unfairly is the only real layer of disappointment they have left for us.
