Wolves have completed the signing of Burnley striker Steven Fletcher and say the overall fee equals the club's record transfer fee.

The Scottish international moves to Molineux after just one season at Turf Moor, where he scored 12 goals last season - including eight goals in the Premier League.

Fletcher has penned a four-year deal at Molineux, with the option for a fifth should both parties agree on an extension, with Wolves delighted to have sealed the deal early in the summer.

Chief Executive Jez Moxey said: "He was one of Mick's main targets for the summer and, just like last season with Kevin Doyle, we were able to register our interest early and get the deal done.

The Times has today reported that Serbia international Danijel Ljuboja has been offered to both Wolves and Stoke.

The 31-year-old spent four years in Germany, with Stuttgart, Hamburg and Wolfsburg.

WOLVES boss Mick McCarthy is staying tight-lipped about the club’s pursuit of Hull winger Stephen Hunt.

The Irish international was the subject of a series of bids in January.

“Since we were linked with Hunt I thought Jarvo (Matt Jarvis) went on to have a terrific season,’’ said McCarthy. “But we’re still looking for players and I’ve always said I’d like two players for every position.

“That’s what you want – to have competition everywhere.’’

Steven Fletcher’s arrival will allow McCarthy to switch formations.

“Kevin Doyle can play up front on his own and so can Steven,” McCarthy said.

“Doyler’s played wide left and wide right as well.

“Whatever shape we play those lads can give us a bit of flexibility. I’d like to play with two up front if we can.

“We played 4-4-2 for a lot of the season. We went to Spurs and Everton and played 4-4-2 and got good results, and at Stoke as well.

I think the Fletcher deal was a strong indication of our intent and ambition. Although i think we might have payed a couple of million extra, I'm sure he'll be a success.
