The thing that really strikes me about that squad is that, aside from Buddle, the US doesn't really have a goalscorer they can count on He's in cracking form, but Altidore's had a bit of a season to forget. He might have a 1:3 goals:games ratio for the US, but he's hardly in form going into the cup... It's a shame really, because there is some quality dotted about the squad otherwise - Dempsey and Donovan have shown they can play with the best, I wouldn't mind having Howard as a GK option for England, and the likes of Bocanegra, Spector and Clark aren't exactly slouches either. As a side note; OG, any thoughts on the US's training camp, and the decision to use technology to simulate altitude rather than actual altitude? It's not like you guys haven't got enough mountains to choose from...

Come on Jozy! He won't be back at City next season, but he is still one of my favourite players.

I had wondered that myself, actually... I think Benfica's reckoning is that, as great a raw talent as he is, Freddie needs more time to develop, hence why he's been spending a lot of time out on loan at smaller clubs (and in turn why the national side hasn't called him up for the World Cup). No doubt he's gonna be a quality player if he's managed well; I don't think he's getting enough games at the moment though (12 games this season, 4 games last season...)

Altidore's injured his ankle now; being assessed "on a day-to-day basis."
Any thoughts as to who might get called up if he can't make it, OG?
