Starts this weekend with Froch vs Dirrell and Abraham vs Taylor. I've only seen Froch and Kessler on tv so I'm making my judgements here from what I've seen other fans writing about the competitors.
Will be interesting to see how Dirrell fares against what's apparently his first world-class opponent and if Froch can cope against someone who may not tire the same way Taylor did. I've seen nothing of Dirrell but with Froch's punch resistance I will go for a Froch win by KO after walking through combinations from Dirrell.
Again, I've seen nothing of Abraham and little of Taylor but I was impressed by Taylor's speed and jab in the clips I've watched from his fight against Froch. It sounds like Abraham's very much a solid puncher but it works for him seeing as he's a middleweight champion. I wouldn't attach much significance to him stepping up in weight for this fight as Taylor's only stepped up recently as well and I can see him winning. One advantage Abraham has is that he's the home fighter in German and WHAT an advantage that is. Controversial judging decisions aren't uncommon (Reid vs Ottke, which also had the referee giving Reid a priceless warning for an apparent foul....punching Ottke in the face, ruling a knockdown a slip and then deducting a point for a 'headbutt' after Ottke had grabbed Reid by the neck and forced him down). Taylor may well have to leave Abraham in clearly no state to continue as points could be too much to ask for.
