The unnamed U16 has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, from the top to the bottom of the division, and, after a number of reportedly illegal approaches to the youngster, the Hatters have finally lost patience with their London neighbours. A club source said: "The club feel they have a responsibility to protect their assets." The ongoing matter is currently being investigated by the FA. Luton Town director Antony Brown said: "The club feel at this stage it is not appropriate to comment while the investigation is ongoing." The Hatters rely heavily on the supply of homegrown talent, both for progression into the first team and, ultimately, to sell in order to finance the running of the club. Town are known to currently have a rich seam of young talent. Youth development officer Gregg Broughton, said: "At the end of the day if we are able to allow our young players to go on and learn in the Premier League that's how we will survive as a football club." We contacted the FA but no response was available by the time we went to press yesterday afternoon. *~*~*~*~*~* OI! GUNNERS! LEAVE OUR KIDS ALONE!
