Shame it's not on his signings.
Healy, who I forgot was playing against Palace because he was making that much of an impact, has not been great. And Delaney? Just, oh dear. OK, we've got to give them time, so hopefully they'll make this statement look very stupid indeed.
Rumours in the local press seem to be that Keane is going to get rid of Stead, Quinn and Garvan. Stead's not looked too sharp, but I'm guessing that because he's been shoved up front by himself and not had the service from the midfield. However, they're all in the squad for tonight in the Carling Cup against Peterborough.
Keane seems to have to sell players before bringing in others, hence why Pablo was rumoured to be heading to Swansea. He declined to go, and should be back tonight against Peterborough after a groin injury. It should be good to have him back, even though he's not quick, he can provide support to the other striker. Hopefully.
From what I've seen so far, McAuley has started appallingly and has, rightly, been dropped. Pim's not been too great either (he's twice shouted "fuck" really loudly in front of the Brittania Stand when he's made a mistake. Much to the amusement of everyone, until Palace scored from what he gave away.) Trotter's touch is too heavy sometimes, and he also occasionally forgets which side he's on and passes it to the opposition. I was out on Saturday, but recorded the WBA match. I watched the first half (half asleep at the time). However, of what I saw, some of our defending was shocking and Richard Wright saved our bacon on more than one occasion.
With Norris' knee injury leaving him out until probably the New Year (same with Civelli), we're lacking something in midfield. Hopefully Peters will be back soon after his ankle injury. Heck, we could shove him at left back, he did alright there against Norwich.
With the shock retirement of Shane Supple, Town are looking for an understudy to Richard Wright. And given the way our defence is at the moment, he'll have to be good too.
Keane is a big fan of playing youngsters, as we have seen with Connor Wickham, so tonight in the Carling Cup against Peterborough, he looks likely to play some of the first team with a smattering of the youth. Barry Fry has called the draw a "rubbish" one. Can't blame him. At the moment, we're playing like that.
Fingers crossed things click soon, but at the moment, it's the same rubbish under a different manager. It might be time for Roy Keane Beard Watch if things don't begin to improve.
