You just need to find an extra 17000 fans then!

If this does go ahead I think it will be a big mistake. I think our ground is about the right size for us. At the moment, even in the unlikely event of us getting promoted, 32-33,000 is about our limit. The ground is usually three quarters full and is of a balanced appearance. It is nicely enclosed which helps (particularly in evening fixtures) to generate a good atmosphere - that is when everyone gets behind the team instead of moaning at certain scapegoats! If we expand the ground in the way that is suggested, it will destroy that balance and most of trhe time it'll only be half full, if that. We will just have a big, empty looking stadium. I think over capacity is something that hasn't helped our neighbours in recent years with over capacity. Their attendances haven't been greatly dissimilar to our's, but because their ground is bigger, it isn't often much more than half full. And that can sometimes (not always) lessen your home advantage. That said, I would not be opposed to improving the kop. The leg room is poor and those great big pillars can be a real nuisance! I just don't see the need for adding capacity.

I just don't see the need for adding capacity. i agree that at the minute we don't really need a stadium as big as this and never will until we establish ourselves in the Prem., however generally speaking the club has made alot of forward steps over the last ten years and the next two of significance will be promotion and then establishing ourselves in the prem., so assuming we can take these steps in say the next 5 years, a bigger stadium is a pretty logical idea.....
