SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY chairman Lee Strafford said today that the club had landed a "huge" coup by the appointment of New York bank Inner Circle Sports as advisers on the Owls' bid to seal a US investment deal. The bank have come on board as American specialists who have done major deals on behalf of Liverpool, Sunderland, Wembley Stadium, Real Madrid and a host of big American sports clubs. Strafford believes that the current initiative - with talks alADVERTISEMENTready begun with potential investors - gives the Owls their best chance yet of sealing multi-million-pound investment. The Owls chief said: "If this doesn't deliver a result, Sheffield Wednesday will never get major investment. "They (Inner Circle] don't take deals on that harm their brand. "This has been done brilliantly. If this doesn't land a result to the best possible investor through the best possible intermediaries, then good luck to any foootball club." Strafford says that Wednesday are privileged because the American bank have turned down most approaches to aid English clubs - but they see the Owls as the having the right set-up and potential. "They (Inner Circle] are seriously clued up," he added. "They have been hands-on at Liverpool and Sunderland, and they have looked at every other club who are trying to raise money and turned them down." That overall looks quite promising.
