Just a thought... We fairly often get threads on here asking for advice re: types of software, or for troubleshooting tips (see Lolly's 'Help!' thread as an example) - it seems a shame, once we're done, to just let them slip away into the ether.
Would it be worth making a forum (or sub-forum in the help/assistance forum?) where we can specifically post IT-related queries/articles? That way, we have a trouble-shooting reference section if people need it, and if anyone has specific queries or interesting articles, they can be posted too.
It might be useful for members on here who're less tech-savvy (or less geeky, depending on your preferred term ;D) to be given a basic introduction to things like RSS and Web 2.0, or other new aspects of the internet such as cloud computing that're probably gonna get bigger in the future!

That sounds quite a good idea, and given your expertise, you'll be in popular demand.

Ah, I'm far from an expert - I'm just very good at sitting and poking 'til stuff works ;D After you've encountered enough errors, you grow used to the right line of thought to follow - and my brother, sister and parents have provided me with more than enough practice

It'd make sense for the board to have a techy moderator, I suppose - don't necessarily know that I'd be the first choice for it though!

Every man should know his thing ;D
My point is there might be people more suited to it other than me - I wouldn't mind the job, I just wouldn't want to get in the way of someone more suited to the job than myself, if the board even needs a sub-mod!
