Thank you for your input. Fuck off smart arse. You really do disgrace yourself JBL. Come back with gratuitous abuse if you want to, but your comments are totally uncalled for. Before abusing others you should look to your own side. At Bramall Lane the only side that I saw matching your description of us was you. And how do you reconcile your comments with the fact that you were actually 22'd in the championship fair play league. Burnley beat us today and deserved to do so. They were better than us, and had it not been for the great efforts of one or two individuals in our side Burnley's win would have been of a much greater margin. On my journey back I spent some time in the company of Burnley supporters. And I'm glad to say they were very gracious in their success, and a credit to their club, something which you are not. I really do not begrudge them their palce in the premier league. They deserve it, and I wish them the best of luck.

there were cheaper tickets when they first went on sale, but by the time i knew couple of mates of mine could make it, it was just down to the expensive tickets. i'm hope me not being there will change our luck in big matches. It didn't work, so if we ever get there again, you may as well go and sufer with the rest of us!

I honestly thought Sheff Utd were gonna do it this season - you had such a cracking end to the season that i thought momentum was in your favour...i was wrong! You just didnt turn up today (just like Morton) ;D

We are just hopeless at the games that really really matter. Our track record goes back years.
I went to the match, but can understand why Morton didn't go.
I knew we'd lose and before the day arrived I relived the feelings of previous bitter disappointments. I knew I would once again have that awful empty feeling that most football supporters have felt at some stage. But like an idiot I still had to be there.
The brutal facts are that we have appeared in 3 play-off finals and have not scored a goal in any of them, and we have never won a play-off game in any other ground than Bramall Lane. But I suppose on the plus side, we have never lost a play-off game at Bramall Lane. We might go up if a play-off final was held there!

i think blackwells tactics were very negative....burnley were the better side and deserved to win

I've already said that Burnley were better than us. They thoroughly deserve their win.
The immediate aftermath of a play-off final defeat probably isn't the best time for an inquest into 'what went wrong'. But one thing I would say in Blackwell's defence is that he didn't have much choice with regard to his tactics as we only had one fit striker.

I've always hailed from the side of life that found gloating at the misfortune of others to be a bit unseemly.

Well done Burnley, and I agree with you GB, really was a great goal. Commiserations Sheffield United. Thankyou ITFC Dudette for your comments. I think Ipswich are a bit like us in as much as they know all about play-off final heartbreak. But I cannot deny thatb the best team won. 1-0 flattered us. I'd love us to actually be able to reach a final! We always seem to get knocked out in the semis (in recent years by those everyone's favourite, those lovely Hammers), apart from 9 years ago! I hope you enjoyed your day out, it's a shame your team didn't perform. But I look forward to the next part of Ipswich vs Sheffield United, it's always a good match.
